My Country Tizophthy

I used Midistep playing the Cantoria pipe organ with some Phasemaker here and there and improvising Swam Solo Cello on top.
Basically using music to vent.

  • I enjoyed the cello part especially. It brought to mind a great band called Dirty Three. Nice track!

Thanks for listening! I'm really loving the swam cello these days. Now that I'm playing it with a new keyboard (Nektar) I've been able to unlock it's expressiv-ity.

It's good to see you doing some of your own music now again (after just the videos).

  • Very nice cello. How are you using the Nektar differently? Mod wheel and pedals?

Thank you sir. I have a Panorama T4 with sliders and dials and stuff but for the cello I use a lot of expression pedal (cc11) for volume control, I mapped the key's channel pressure to the cello vibrato. The keyboard's channel pressure is really nice and sensitive. I generally like the keyboard feel; but it's not like a piano. I also mapped the mod wheel to the swam bow pressure. As you know the swam instruments have many more expressive controls but I like to keep my hands on the keyboard so haven't really gone beyond those things yet.

I'm sorry I've been remiss in commenting on your new pieces even though I enjoy. I've liked the solo piano stuff a lot. My excuse is that I most often listen on my ipad or phone and I don't like typing there.

  • Have to agree with all of the above. That cello sounds excellent. Very expressive and natural sounding.

    Your ears are always appreciated.

  • Feel free to vent more often if this is the end result 😊
Cantoria is a great app and you’ve used the SWAM Cello beautifully.
I like the harmonics on these SWAM string instruments, have you tried them ?

Thanks! I'm worried there will be plenty cause for venting in the future. But I'll do my best to be more upbeat.

Yes you can get a good variety of authentic sounds; what a deal!

Actually, I used a bit of harmonics toward the end; yes, love that sound.
