Latency iPad mini 2
Hi, i have been playing with my ipad in live performances for 4 months via the lighting to USB cable and a midi controller with no problems until today when i started noticing a delay between the time i play and the sound, later when i played the ipad using a electric piano as controller the sound of the piano came first.
Any advice?, its the ipad or an external source?, Whats the normal amount of latency with the iPad mini 2?, May be its normal and i have not notice until today.
Its not too bad, still Works ok for live performances but its to distracting now that i know.
Thanks
(i use only 1 app at time, 2 at most, no apps running in the background, almost no audiobus, airplane mode on)

Which apps are you using? Many have adjustable latency settings.
Igrand, sampletank, gallileo, m300, nlog, thumbjam, bs 16i, ilectric, its more prominent with the pianos in thumbjam, sampletank and igrand when comparing its sound against a electric piano, setting the latency to ultra low in the last two Works better but i have never used this in the past and it was feeling alright
Have you tried using Audiobus? You can set the latency up there which keeps it standard across all apps. There will always be a little latency, but setting the buffer to 128 frames (same as ultra-low setting in sampletank and igrand I believe) should be very responsive.
On my Air 7.1.2 I've found running several apps (eg Thumbjam, Sampletank, Sunrizer) simultaneously works better without Audiobus, but I often have to adjust the buffer in each app when they're first opened, and sometimes in a certain order...
Not tried using audiobus i will tomorrow, I know there is always latency but i had not notice it before, i tried to measure it (i dont know of i did it right) and i get 15ms, thats the normal amount or is it higher than standard on iPad mini?
Should be a lot less than that. It's entirely determined by the buffer settings but the mini retina is almost the same specs as the Air 1. You're using external speakers or headphones, right? I believe latency is higher from the inbuilt speakers.
