Monster 4000 - Neural Bus Compressor By Aurora DSP (Released) [Coming to iOS]
https://auroradsp.com/plugins/monster-4000-neural-bus-compressor
The classic, reimagined.
Monster 4000 is an essential mixing tool, modelled after the well-known console compressor used as a mixing "glue".
Now with extra saturation. Add more punch, make the record tighter, smooth out the mix - it handles all of that. External sidechain gives you even more flexibility, while dual-mono feature gives you more control. It's that final something needed for every recording.
Key features:
•Mix knob for parallel compression
•SAT switch for extra character
•Sidechain high-pass filtering
•Auto-release option
•Dual-mono mode
•External sidechain

Going for a very conventional UI for this one. I’m not opposed to conventional if it helps speed up understanding of how to use it.
Looks awesome, but I'm wondering what it can do that MagicDeathEyeStereo, Doctor Vibe, IHNY2, etc can't do already. 😅 Not dissing Monster 4000 any, but just curious what makes it unique besides that lovely UI.

No personal skin in this game, but two things it has that MagicDeathEye doesn’t (other than it being it a different style of compression) is that it has dual mono mode and it has a mix knob so you can use it for dialling in parallel compression.
MagicDeathEye is a Vari-Mu style compressor and the SSL is a VCA style compressor so they react differently to programme information.
Doctor Vibe is a whole different thing which I see they have a 2 week trial set up for it (nice) which I’m now going to have to try out because I think I missed this when it got released.
IHNY2 is a parallel compressor by default and I would say the style of it is probably a little more intense than what the monster appears to be.
Hornet released an SSL style one recently as well. I think there are a few out there now in App world.
The dual mono mode is what has me interested. They don’t even have that included by default in Logic for iPad when they have it in Logic on the Mac or if they do I have never found it.
That's actually an excellent and thorough explanation! Sounds like Monster 4000 may work similar to Cytomic's Glue? If that's the case I jolly well may go in on Monster 4000 once released to iPad. Thanks mate.
