Multiple Instances of the same AUV3 in Loopy Pro: Question

As the title says, I’m using the same AUV3 on different tracks in LP.
When I vary the parameters in one instance all the other tracks mirror that change.
I would like them to be independent of one another.
Feels like I’m missing something simple?
Thanks in advance for responses.

  • That's a bug in that specific AUv3 (it's a common beginner mistake when developing an AUv3 plug-in) -- you have to report this to the developer.

  • Thanks for that. I will reach out. It’s Panstation2. Are you familiar with it?

@Ben , are you sure you’re selecting new instances when you add them? Loopy Pro is unique in that it lets you add a pseudo clone of an FX. When you add the second one, if you select the existing instance (denoted with a letter A on the icon), that will add it in such a way that they will behave like you’re describing.

To add independently controlled instances, pick it from the full app listing. That should add a separate instance labeled with B, etc. the separately labeled instances should act independently. If not, then that’s a bug with the plugin.

  • I just confirmed, Panstation 2 can be independently controlled if you add true separate instances as I described.

Oof, that is very surprising. Apologies to the Panstation developer then 🥴

That’s something completely unique to Loopy Pro. It’s an interesting implementation too. The instances are actually separate, but they share controls across them. Kinda twisted my brain up at first.

Thanks @wim. This makes sense though I thought I was doing that already “pick it from the full app listing”
and they are all labeled A. I’ll take another run at this tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll get it sorted. Thanks again.

In Audiobus, once you picked an AUv3 from the list, it would offer the choice of "Instance A, New Instance". Loopy Pro may be similar.

  • In Loopy Pro, existing instances appear at the top of the picker list with a letter on it. Picking an existing instance results in using the same instance of the plugin for both ( in reality they may be 2 instances but Loopy treats it as a single shared instance).

To create a completely new instance, find the plugin further down the list.

  • The red-circled plugins are existing instances. I’ve circled the uninstantiated plugins in blue.

  • Thanks so much everyone! You were spot on.
That really opens things up for me.
