Rescaler or transpose that remaps notes assuming CMaj incoming?

I’m aware of most of the tools out there like Bram’s scaler, etc. But I’ve not been able to find one that does what I need…

Basically I need one that knows and is built with the assumption that the incoming scale is CMaj (ie white keys).

For example, with Bram’s, you can set the root key, but it won’t always remap incoming C to the root.

So if I set it as D Maj, and send it a C, I’d want the C transposed to D, as that’s the root.

Make sense? I realize I can make some adjustments by manually transposing etc, but I just need a quick set the scale solution.

Is something like this hiding out there I haven’t found?

  • Simple Scaler with "White Keys" mode.

  • I saw that earlier, but couldn't really grok what is was doing or how it was supposed to work... But if you say that's what it's supposed to do I'll give it a spin. Thanks once again!

Easy peasy. Turn the third knob until you see "White Keys". Play white keys from C and the listed scale will play. Shift root or scale to whatever you want and keep playin' them same old white keys.

It doesn't work well for scales with more than 7 notes though.

Or less, but that’s to be expected.

So far works good. The real question is how you knew years ago I was gonna need this!!! 😃

Ha Ha! However, Johannes Doerr, the developer of the MidiFlow series of apps was way ahead of me. I just replicated what Midiflow Scales does once it became clear that nice app wasn't going to be ported to AUv3.
