Best auv3 sequencer on iOS for actually playing into/recording live?

Opinions on the best sequencer to record or live play into?

I’d like something that can record cc, mod wheel. Option to record unquantized then apply nondestructive quantize post record, step probably and elektron type x:y conditions, etc…

I’m guessing Xenquence2 is prob it… just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

  • Is MPE a requirement?

  • Pattern based or linear?
If linear, how would step recording/editing and step conditions apply?

How important is "nondestructive quantize post record"? And does that include only notes or automation as well? Nondestructive quantizing is gonna narrow the options down a lot. Xequence 2 won't do that and doesn't have conditionals either.

  • Are there even that many AUv3 hosts out there that do proper non-destructive quantize other than LogicPro for iPad?

    Auria Pro?

An upcoming update for a little known Pro Looper app will have it.

    Nope

I'm not sure what you mean by this...

Basically I want as close to an elektron-style step sequencer as I can find on ipad... That's not Drambo, because I don't like it for what I'm doing, or trying to do.

    Just quantize note/trig/step timing...

Honestly if Ableton Note wasn't a walled garden it would be perfect. And yes I tried move and didn't like it. It's an overpriced hardware controller for an inferior version of Note as far as I can tell...

Considering how long we had to wait just to see Loopy Pro, and how long the midi looping has been talked about, I'm not holding my breath. Not a dig, just kinda reality...

Never tried it because the price was on the higher-side and the reviews are on the lower-side and I never, ever see anyone on YT using it...

  • I was responding to @samu ‘s question regarding Auria Pro and Loopy, not recommending either to you. Sorry for the confusion.

The point is, non-destructive quantization is rare to find on iOS.

I was just trying to understand what you're looking for, your quest sounded a little contradicting to me.

Well if Xequence 2 supports your elektron style workflow better then I have no other idea ;)

Now that you said it, indeed I'd find non-destructive quantization quite useful. It would have a good place here, in LK which is one of the few pattern sequencers that allows for almost endlessly long patterns and live CC recording:

Is this possible to implement @sinosoidal ?
