Beatmaker 3 + Aum

Hi fam, sorry if it is stupid or lazy question..
I don’t have Ipad with me atm.
Question is: How to implement Beatmaker 3 with Aum.
I would like to have synts and fugue maschine playing inside Aum but being able to record it to Beatmaker 3 my main daw.
Should I open Beatmaker 3 and install Aum inside and then inside of Aum set synths and Fugue? Or should I open Aum and „install” Beatmaker at the end of the chain?
I have a vague knowledge and if abybody could do a step by step explanation I would be grateful.
Thanks!

No need to apologize. It’s not an intuitive process.

    • Start AUM
    • Start BM3
    • Select the first pad you want a sound to go to, go to the Plugin tab, then Inter-App Audio, then scroll down to find AUM (port 1) and load it.
    • Tap the grayed out AUM icon to open the keyboard/plugin screen. Then tap the AUM icon to open AUM.
    • Tap the output of the AUM channel you want to send to BM3 and select IAA / Audiobus Output. You should see the BM3 icon and IAA Output 1
    • Repeat for other AUM ports on other pads.
    • You’ll probably want Link and Link Start/Stop enabled in both apps.
  • Thank you Wim. I will try it later, hopefully with good results. If I won’t I will ask you some additional questions :)

  • Also another question I’ll post here about Aum. Let say I want 4 instances of microwave1 and one of Fugue Maschine to play all 4 synths at once (in different tempo directions, pitch etc) How to set it up?

There are two ways to do that:

    1. Set each Fugue Machine playhead to a different MIDI Channel.
      • Tap the ... button at the top-right of Fugue Machine and then Settings
      • Set a channel for each playhead.
      • Route Fugue Machine to all four synths
      • Use AUM's channel filter on each synth to listen to only the needed channel.
    2. Use Fugue Machine's Multi-Out MIDI setting
      • As above, get to the Settings but scroll down to Individual Outputs to be sure it's turned on
      • Now you will see five midi outputs for Fugue Machine in AUM's routing matrix
      • Route the playhead outputs that you want to the synths that you want. No channel filtering is needed.
  • I didn’t know this was possible. Thanks for the questions and thanks to the app guru @wim
