My Autumn Leaves cover
Hi folks!
Here's my autumn cover of Autumn Leaves.
Actually, it took me the whole autumn to prepare the arrangement, learn the parts and record the whole video.
I learned a lot about the self-recording process and found some lifehacks to make it easier (at least for me).
I also understood that I don't want to spend an eternity in a DAW tweaking plug-ins and reamping DI sounds.
So I decided to try to achieve the desired sound before recording, even if it's riskier.
Instruments: Ravenscroft, apeSoft accordion, SWAM Clarinet, SWAM Double Bass, Blue3, OneShot

Lovely interpretation of a great old standard. Mom would play Nat King Cole on the hi-fi. I played this as an accordion recital piece when I was about 10. Thanks for the memories.
Hi @Paulieworld. Thank you very much
I can relate to these feelings, especially when you're a child and finally you start sounding like what you hear on the hi-fi the first time
that's great, I used to (sing and) play this as I had guitar lessons .. way back
lovely, thanks for sharing
Nicely done! Always liked that song. Hope you will share more of these. What is that little drum pad you are using?
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
I'm curious about the drum pad too.
Thank you all for kind words, I'm happy to hear that
@pbelgium @Dav it's the ESI XJam. Actually very nice thing. It's relatively cheap, 100€ in Germany. It has poly aftertouch, many sensitivity parameters to configure, many banks and presets to switch on the fly and I haven't faced double-triggers at all. Suits for a newbie fingerdrummer focused on natural sounding drums. I actually bought it specifically for OneShot.
And it even has an iPad configuration tool. Maybe it isn't very stable sometimes, but it works. Using it and a pinch of Mozaic magic I turned it into a great SWAM controller.
Thank you for the info. Hmm, that’s in my price range, will consider picking one up.
Well done @vlaoladis
Your video production was rather nice. Must’ve taken some time to set all of that up, shoot and edit.
Yeah. It was the first time with this setup and workflow so it took a week to just shoot and record everything
Very nice, well worth waiting for. Enjoyed the clarinet sound very much and a great video 👍
@Edward_Alexander, @GeoTony thank you very much
