Battle of the LFOs
I really can’t decide which LFO app to go for today, i mostly use rozetta LFO up to this point, but sometimes i want a lil more control…
I found these 3 to be interesting as well… what do you guys use or recommend?

It looks like one instance of mLFO lets you run multiple LFOs per instance to control several parameters…
Maybe they all do tho. But that’s a big bonus for me and organization
I’m interested in this too - mLFO has my vote so far - a sale would tip the balance!
Drambo
Mic drop
mLFO looks awesome, i see a lot of people, especially gavinkski using midiLFOs a lot too and im kinda leaning towards it… atm.. i think you can use 4LFOs per instance
lol, not for me i don’t really use drambo even tho it is the all in one solution for many
the one from gsdsp is free and neat
I found mLFO confusing to use so I mostly use Rozeta. Haven’t tried the others, so can’t comment. If you want the option of doing really complex modulations then MiRack would be my recommendation, particularly as you can mix and modulate to your heart’s content before outputting as a CC.
Mlfo has some good features, I don’t enjoy the UI much tho, so I never got into it, whereas I LOVE the UI of midiLFOs. I have a walkthrough on midiLFOs on my Patreon btw, it was actually the first Patreon-exclusive video I did, going pretty deep into it. There’s more to it than appears at first glance. I really like it annd enjoy especially doing cross-modulation between the LFOs.
I ended up going for midiLFO because it looked simple and cool ui.
Pretty dope little app, and 4 LFOs per instance is just right for me and for simplicity! Saw it in your vids many times so it was the obvious choice
Good choice to be fair. Me I personally use Flux Pro in AUM to drive my LFOs, although that requires a bit more setup than a dedicated LFO plugin. Ymmv ofc.
Moot point now but if you are looking for ultra-slow modulation, mLFO goes down to one cycle per 130,441 beats (around 18 hours at 120 bpm).
Ooooo. That sounds pretty great for sound installations. I may give it a go sometime.
Wondering if any LFO apps are oriented towards transmitting high-res modulation (beyond the 7-bit messages of standard MIDI protocol - ie. 14-bit MIDI 1.x, MIDI 2.0, or OSC). Of course, using 14-bit MIDI CC modulation depends more on the destination app than the modulation source, since it's possible to manually set up two CCs 32 apart to achieve 14-bit resolution with just about any CC source. But I've found that it can be finicky to keep the MSB and LSB in sync with one another when doing it manually. So far I haven't found any good solutions.
I'm curious about this also! That extra resolution could be a big deal at longer cycle rates.
TouchOSC perhaps? But as you say, not a lot of apps accept OSC. MiRack and Audulus work with higher resolutions internally but see above.
Theres a discussion on here somewhere about this which came up when Moog released the MoogerFooger plugins (that can do hi res between themselves). If memory serves, your best bet for general hi res is to use a host which has internal LFOs (ApeMatrix springs to mind) or use the host’s internal automation, as that tends to have higher resolution than normal MIDI.
On the subject of the MoogerFoogers, if you pipe MIDI LFOs into them the right way they can smooth things out and remove the steppiness. I’m being a bit vague here as I haven’t used them for a while and can’t remember the details off the top of my head. But it’s not a universal solution, it only applies to those plugins.
