I like the retro coleco look
Sexy. The vast majority of this could be done on an iPad, or course, probably all of it. Is there a Mozaic script (or similar) that does what the voicing knob in this does? I see that is 'patent pending', wonder how it works exactly then.
Yea this is a super simple machine to recreate. I do dig portable limited hardware a lot and it was designed by Kevin from tame impala so was worth looking into, i wonder what he will make next!
Would love to see your take on Mozaic Scripts. I know that would probably be a daunting task haha. As I understand it, for us on iOS the implementation of these scripts would be in Atom 2? Don’t know much about them but I’ve heard you mention them. That aside, I did see the Orchid video a few days ago…it does seem intuitive but nothing to the extent that made me feel like it was something that would benefit me at the moment.
I use Mozaic but have zero interest in learning to code, even simple stuff like Mozaic! You don't need Atom, just need the Mozaic app and download scripts from Patch storage! In most cases you just then have to feed your midi into Mozaic, choose the correct 'preset' in Mozaic (which you previously downloaded from Patchstorage), then send that midi into your synth or whatever! Very easy. There are so many useful scripts, I've only used a handful. UI is very very basic, unfortunately, but it is a super useful app nevertheless.
Yeah, he seems like a cool guy, and with talent to burn of course. I'm sure this will do well, but it's mainly just a lovely looking bit of kit that wraps up some midi functionality, most of which we have very easy access to from a handful of iOS apps.
Ah ok thanks for information.
This looks interesting!
I'd love to pick one of these little boxes but the price always pushes me away lol. Is there no cheap fun midi device for the noodlers who just want an impulse buy toy and not a piece of "kit".
Kevin parker made this with waldorf from what i have found
Not with Waldorf, but with a guy who has worked with Waldorf, from what I could gather via online searches. If you have evidence it is actually directly with Waldorf the company itself, that would be interesting, so please share a link
