Looks cool! I wonder what it'll cost.
far too much probably... I'll just stick with koala!
Loopy HD is $7.99
Loopy Pro is $29.99
Runs on quality hardware made by Apple.
Can all be done, far better, with a $5 app on the iPhone you already have in your pocket all the time.
If they can get this to about $199 I’d be all over it, I suspect closer to 400+ though.
I did build a loopy template to do this kind of stuff, though I’m sure I didn’t do a great job and a more expert user would do an ace job…
The UI would make for a stylish app. Retro but appealing.
Assuming it ships and how long it’ll be supported.
Koala is the way. Loopy Pro as well if you need more.
Do you know anything about this other rumored koala update @sevenape ?
Same here, and as others have said, Loopy Pro as well.
reminds me of this Focusrite app called Tape, too. Had beautiful UI but only 1 or 2 tracks.... Is totally possible to do something similar and cheaper in the iPad. Would be very nice!
I remember one guy that did a template with Gauss and AUM to do some kind of 4 track-ish feel. (Never understood use Gauss as a long recorder for not ambient stuff)
Only that it's supposed to be a bit more interesting than the last updates and it was called 'Quokka'! Other than that your guess is as good as mine!!!

PS: this is the "minor but cool update", Project Quokka is still getting its last bells and whistles attached, that's the slightly more exciting update. Just working on the tooltips now
Hmm I don’t know enough about Quokka to make a fair guess! Or even if the name has anything to do with the update.
I never thought the mixer update with buses would happen as Marek has been really transparent of his vision of koala and it achieves that, making music without being too precious about the sounds, so I even have less confidence in anything I could / would guess!
AUV3 hosting? Koala within Koala like Drambo within Drambo does really well?
Even thinking about them sounds off when you consider resampling and such. I don’t know!! K im done lol
How did you know I don’t have Facebook so I couldn’t see the post 😜
Thank you for sharing that!
Ha! No worries!! Some people are saying that with the last update and the fact that quokkas are social animals it's gonna be some sort of collaborative thing... But honestly I have no idea!
Honestly that would be pretty cool to have a way to collab with others. Then again Koala projects store all the samples within, so it's easy enough right now to hand off projects to others and vice versa.
I’m also interested in this. The price will determine if I end up getting it. I like the suggestions of Loopy Pro and Koala tho I think there’s some flavor that this little device is bringing that can’t be achieved alone in those apps without added processing.
I used to think the same until I watched @Gavinski YouTube video on it and the way he explained the sequencer really opened up my enjoyment / usage of not only the app but loops in general.
Having that 4track template could make it run a rhythm by itself without being dependent on the host app when ran as an AUV3 since the tape rolls on.
Using for different tempos even within a project or having it set up as the drone. I think I have that template for Drambo now that I’m thinking about it. Automation for a drastic scene change for some added drama within a track.
I really like the loop decay function too. Really brings that analog tape vibe. I’m just kind of spit ballin here but I’m gonna have to explore some options tomorrow!
Side note - I JUST noticed this video @Gavinski so I’m watching it now. Well done.
Ohh that would be interesting. One of my favorite apps and I’ve loved each update they’ve provided so whatever it is I’m sure it’ll be dope. Hoping it’s out before the end of the only year!
That .koala function was such a smart idea. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more starter templates running around. Or like a dedicated site for koala skins.
Indeed. I personally prefer the way Koala looks by default, but ymmv. .koala is an amazing function!
Looks good to me, hopefully it will have midi over usb.
Now that looks pretty good. Reminds me a bit of the OP-1F's tape workflow, minus everything else. Might be fun to use Tape. Depending on price of course.
You soooo do not need this Dan, lol
When i saw it i was like this is probably based on op1 lol.
Was told it’s going to have 2in2out usb audio interface mode added after everything else even better
Lol! Indeed. Imagine having the tape workflow of the OP-1, but you can record into the device anything you wish! That's actually what appeals to me. But, it all depends on the price of course. I most likely won't be able to afford it until sometime in the new year sadly. Ah well, back to my iPad I go. 😂
I know I know thanks for the reality check Gav!!
Need? ≠ Want!
What are you waiting for ?
It might be a bit pricey (I suppose it will be) and similar to the OP-1, but why not? It looks ultra-cool!
