You don’t need to search.. you already found what works best for you ;) It’s obviously NS2+Cubasis combination .. just accept drawbacks and weak places, entire life is about this - nothing is perfect, it’s about making peace in you with things as they are.. Endless hunt after perfecrton is wasted life time.

Btw. automation in Auria is pure nigthmare and in AEM is also not ideal in my opinion in this area..

What is a pure nightmare about automation in Auria?I do all my mix in Auria and it’s automation is of the easiest.

I've never used Auria beyond mastering (this was before AUv3 became a thing and Auria had the FabFilter vsts as IAPs), so I'm curious to know what makes it easy for you @ecou versus what makes it hard for you @dendy . :)

    • subgroups and buses
    • Audio quantizing with warp and slicing modes
    • Transient slicing
    • All parameter exposed
    • About Drawing the automation . I would say to read the paragraph in the manual on how it works. Also using a pen helps. I have a cheap 30$ pen from Amazon. Works great.

I had a feeling Auria had subgroups and busses, but I had. no clue about transient slicing and audio warp. Now that makes me want to take a second look into it! Also, I have an Apple Pencil Pro to go with my Mini 7 (it's how I toggle parameters in FabFilter plugins, lol).

I forgot the PSP channel and Master strip. They sound very good and a included. No IAP needed. Very processing efficient.

I mostly stick to IK Mixbus and the Toneboosters. That's all I need with the PSP stuff.

Tonight I start mixing a song. I will be adding Scaler EQ. I'll report.

Sounds good. Wishing you best of luck. :)

Same to you in your exploration

Thank you so kindly mate. :)

  • Musically I prefer the first Logic Pro section but I find it amazing how you flit between DAWs.
I would take months and months to get to grips with anything other than AUM.
Hope you find your ideal solution soon 👍

Thank you so kindly, my friend. :) Logic Pro was fun for a couple tracks, but honestly it just became too cumbersome with it forgetting the settings of a couple plugins. Wild, because otherwise it'd be a decent replacement for NS2 (especially with "clip automation").

But that said, I've finally settled on sticking mostly with NS2 again. I also like Cubasis 3, but sometimes the automation section gives me an occasional headache (when I try to adjust an automation point, it sometimes scrolls all the way left back to the beginning of the song!). But what @LFS and company have done is monumental with 3.7 and Iconica Sketch. Recently made a holiday piece of music in NS2, and I used Iconica Sketch in it. Perfect sounding Bassoons, Violins, String Basses, and Glockenspiel for that piece. ;)

  • I like NS2 a lot and would say it’s the easiest DAW I’ve ever used, however, it’s unlikely it’ll ever be updated and no new features added, including IAPs. Who knows what’s going to happen to it over the next few years. If Matt ever came back with NS3 I’d be all over it.

I know it’s still perfectly capable of producing good music as many regularly demonstrate but I think it’s time for me to move on to CB3 for all future work. As Doug from @thesoundtestroom said the other day, it’s got plenty of sounds to make plenty of music. I’ve got all the IAPs for it so it should be more than enough for my needs at least.
