Is there a MIDI Note Auto-Hold app?

I want an app that automatically holds played notes

  • As long as i hold a key, i can add more notes
  • When i release a key, it will be held
  • Held keys will be released when new keys get pressed

Is there an app that can do this?

    I use Midi Latch that’s part of https://apps.apple.com/us/app/midi-tools/id1446209019

    A lot of the other tools like route etc are also invaluable.

    Unfortunately for latch the latch switch is not exposed as a param in AU… would make it perfect I think.

    There Could be a mozaic script out there on Patchstorage that does this but have to check.

    If not maybe one could be made.

    Here’s the features
    Features
    • Display incoming MIDI notes on the pads.
    • Two latch modes, TOGGLE and REPLACE.
    • In TOGGLE mode incoming note messages toggle the note on and off.
    • REPLACE mode releases already held notes when a new chord is entered. When only one note is active, it can be released by playing it again.
    • Release held MIDI notes by tapping on the pads in the user interface.
    • Support for two output channels A and B.
    • AUTO mode sends any new note to channel B when the number of simultaneously active notes is above the set threshold for number of notes or velocity.
    • Manually choose channel A or B while playing. One channel can hold latched notes, while the other can be used to play manually.
    • Built-in MIDI panic functionality

    I do like this idea for a new Mozaic Script, there’s a thread for requesting new mozaic scripts.

    dRambo has a "LATCH" module which does this.
    You can also automate the LATCH module.

    That's it.
    Works exactly as i wanted, and activating/deactivating it can be MIDI learned to anything.
    Drambo again!
