Best way backup / restore projects
Getting new iPad today.
Do not want to backup / restore anything to the new one - want to maintain an "audio production only" device.
Best way save / import a project with all associated audio?
It will be a new iPad with USB C.
I also use iCloud Drive to port files from device to device.
Comments
Loopy projects contain all their audio. If you copy a project to a new device all the audio goes with it and its project midi bindings. If you use global profiles for bindings, you will need to move those.
I recommend making a backup copy of your Loopy Pro folder as a backup. Note that AUv3 projects don’t get backed up however when you do that and need to be exported independently.
When you say AUv3 projects are you referring to LP being hosted by another app as opposed to vice versa?
Projects where loopy pro is an AU.
Are AuV3 presets that are saved inside Loopy, copied with the project file as well?
The AUv3 current settings are stored in a project. If you switch between presets , the different presets are not in the project. AUv3 presets you add in Loopy are stored in a folder in the Loopy Pro folder.
You could do that whole “clone” thing and then delete what you don’t need or want. More likely to copy something you don’t want and breaking that “music only” philosophy, but def less work having it all working without forgetting something
Where is Loopy looking for the projects I downloaded on to the new iPad?
In the Loopy Pro folder
