exporting MIDI data from any of the Lumbeat drum apps?

About to give up on running Lumbeat live, because of all the inherent drawbacks in operations (NOT because of sound or beats!!)

I also have a BeatBuddy pedal, and while it is a great tool for live work, it tends to get a bit boring and repetitive when most patterns are only about four bars long with very little in the way of random variation. You know, those little variation hits, flams double taps etc etc, that keep Lumbeat apps so interesting to play with. And I have little time to start programming them myself.

So I was thinking what if I could create 16 bar patterns (and derivatives thereof) with all the "jamming" from Lumbeat and move them over to the Beatbuddy?

Would seem to be the best of both worlds, a great live drumming partner with all the variability of Lumbeat.

But, how to do this?

Does anyone here have ideas on how I could achieve this without necessarily using an iOS DAW? For example, is there some hidden function in the Lumbeat app that allows exporting MIDI as it does for iBassist?

  • Yeah, you can. If you press the share icon it gives the option to export audio, midi or both. You can export from song mode as well. Works really nicely with Oneshot!

Sweet! Thanks for that. You know, I have never pressed that share icon. Never thought it would be much use haha!
