Can’t change sample rate in iOS 18 (solved)

edited December 6 in Hardware

Im not sure this is the right category but ever since I updated to iOS 18 I can’t change sample rate in any app. Im using a Scarlett 18i20 1st gen.
Im wondering if others are having this problem? Is it an any audio interface problem or just a Scarlett 18i20 problem or a general iOS 18 problem or just my problem?

I am guessing that this is the iOS 18 bug that makes it look like it doesn’t work . If that is the case, if you force-quit the app you are in and relaunch, you will probably find that the settings have been changed to what you want. Turning of Siri—or turning it On turn Off solves it for some people.

  • I've tried force quitting. When I select any sample rate other than 48 it says something like "can't select this sample rate, either the hardware doesn't support it or it is being controlled by another program." Force quitting and restarting puts me at 48 still.

I used to use 88200 cause it got my latency down to like 6ms.

Are you able to change yours? What interface do you have?

  • I should say I've tried most everything I can think of. Tried opening the Focusrite software on my laptop and selecting all sorts of different settings.

  • Woah dude that siri tip nailed it. Turned siri listen on and then back off and now my sample rate is whatever I set it to on the laptop. Thanks!
