Group/Loop transition timing
Hi All,
I have the following project with the Play Groups set up to be Mutually Exclusive with each other and for the Loops within each Play Group to play independently. The buttons next to the Play Group triggers that Play Group to play.
Group 2, the Group with the "Verse" button next to it, has Clip 13, which is 4 bars and Clips 14 and 15, which are 8 bars.
After Group 2, I typically play Group 3. After Group 3, I typically play Group 4. After Group 4 plays, I transition back to Group 2 and here's where I'd like some advice.
While Group 4 is playing, I want at some point to transition back to Group 2. But Since Clip 25, the only Clip in Group 4, is only 2 bars long and Group 2 has several Clips in it with 8 bars, when I click on the "Verse" button to cue up Group 2 to play, it sometimes takes a while for Group 2 to play, since it has to align those 8 bar Clips in Group 2 back to "12 O'clock" before starting the clips in Group 2 playing, which is not always what I want, since depending when I hit the "Verse" button it can be a long time until the Group's clips start playing.
Is there a way to configure things so that after I trigger Group 2 by hitting the "Verse" button that Group 2's Clips will start playing (with all loops starting from their starting/12 O'Clock position) as soon as Clip 25 (ie: the longest loop in the currently playing group that I'm about to transition out of) is done.
That way I can click the "Verse" button when I'm within a Bar of being ready to switch and not have to arbitrarily have to wait until all the Clips in Group 2 are aligned at their beginning (ie: 12 O'Clock) position.
So basically, the timing for when to start playing Group 2's Clips would be dependent upon my hitting the Verse button and then will transition as soon as Group 4's loops finish, not when Group 2's Clips are re-aligned and ready to go.

@danm : if you want your groups to start playback from the beginning, turn off phase-lock. That way when your 2 bar group finishes the next group can start right away from its beginning.
