New iPad won't sleep in LP

Has anyone experienced this?
If I am in Loopy pro, the iPad will not sleep. Same if I am in a AUv3 app.
Is there some process going on that makes the iPad think its always being interacted with?

Hi. By "in", do you mean with that app in the foreground? Is it the same for non-music apps, like Safari, Notes?

Could this just be a feature of iPadOS 18, rather than of a new device?

Edit: I've tried this on my iPad Air M2, and it sleeps without problem when the button is pressed. I guess you mean that it doesn't sleep automatically by the Auto-Lock setting.

Do you mean when you press a button to sleep or do you mean automatically sleeping?

If you mean automatically, that is by design. Otherwise, the device might go to sleep while you are performing.

Automatic - I often forget to put it to sleep.
Would be great if there was a toggle.
98% of time its sitting in my studio (half that time burning battery cause I left it on).

I checked about 10 different audio apps and the behavior is the same. I think you will need to remember to put your device to sleep or remember to quit loopy when you are done using it.

  • Will do. Thx again.
