How do you ~really~ keep track of state in your songwriting? (AudioShare is adding text notes!)

I can be working on 10 songs at one time, all in different stages of production. Sometimes, I've found myself having to go back and recreate something and I just can't figure it out.

The problem seems so unsolvable, which is perhaps why AudioShare is adding text notes:

  • Hell yeah he is! And in going to take credit for it since I asked for it. :D

No more balancing moleskine and phone while on metro listening to sketches!

  • Another nice addition to an already brilliant tool!

  • I remember getting up before I went to bed, going to four studios an hour and working on 5000 songs a day......

  • Try telling the young people today Doug....

  • Get off my lawn @allofyou

Notes is a wonderful addition. Auria (all daws, really) needs the same!

Back in the not-so-back-in-the-day (early 00s) we used to take digital photos of mic setups and put the image file name in the pro tools track notes.

  • and he don't stop… he keeps on till the break of dawn…

I take screenshots of configs sometimes.

  • Taking sreenshots is a good idea, adding notes to AS is a very welcome addition. This has always been a thing, I have stacks of little note books with all sorts of indecipherable info in them, but weirdly it makes sence when you associate those scrlbbles with a particular track.

  • I always carry 'pocketmods' in my wallet, but these AS notes will help a lot :)
btw, this is a pocketmod: http://www.pocketmod.com/design/inst.jpg

  • Notes! Esp. for Auria. Please. Even minimally like Sessionband which at least allows you to add a 'title' in different parts of the header bar (Verse 1, Middle 8 etc etc). And while we're at it and so it's in a place that no-one from Auria will ever see it; can you please make the app list in the effects/IAA slot alphabetical. Driving. Me. Nuts etc.
