Midi Fighter Twister implementation in Loopy Pro (continued)
Ive been playing around alot with the midi twister. I really like the automatic bindings feature. However, sometimes it will be glitchy. For example, it will have a single loop on multiple twister locations... or it will transpose it to another place with out logic.
So i've attached a (short) video link to demonstrate that behavior. ( )
A separate question: Is it possible disable the Automatic Bindings feature while still getting the real time visual feedback on the twister per track its assigned to? I would love the same functionality of the auto-bindings but be able to place loops where I prefer on the twister.
Tried learn but that didn't do the trick.
Thanks

Anyone? Still confounded by this.
Midi feedback should work with automated bindings turned off. What isn’t working?
Perhaps there was something glitched in my control profile . I tried it with a fresh project and it worked fine. Hmm... Might be time to start a new set.
Yeah just wanted to chime in. Did a test last night and it worked flawlessly
@espiegel123 Would you mind saying how you got midi feedback working with the MFT? I've been trying for ages and can't make it work. In the control settings under generic device there's a toggle for feedback enabled but under the MFT this option isn't there. I can get the MFT to control a track volume but it would be great if adjusting the volume from loopy sent feedback to the MFT. I'm just wondering if I need a separate app to do this rather than just directly from loopy. Thanks.
I don’t have an MFT, based on what people have said, I believe Loopy sends feedback to an MFT that it recognizes as an MFT.
If the feedback isn’t working, you may need to re-configure the MFT. You may have it set up in such a way that the feedback isn’t working.
I suggest that you reboot. Create a fresh new project from Loopy’s default project. Midi learn control of a mixer channel . Make sure it sees the mft as an mft. Changing the learned track volume in Loopy should be reflected in the MFT.
If it isn’t, you may need to reconfigure the mft to its default settings.
Thanks very much for the suggestions. Loopy recognises the MFT ok. Assigning an MFT knob to a channel volume using midi learn also works ok. But changing the volume in Loopy doesn't send any feedback to the MFT.
That's really useful to know that it should work but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I'm thinking that perhaps it's worth using another app to set up communication between the MFT and Loopy.
The MFT itself has a lot of settings that determine how it responds. You may want to reset the MFT to factory settings.
You can test whether the mft will respond to Loopy’s midi feedback by sending the learned midi message from loopy to the mft.
If the MFT sends CC20 on channel 1 and you learned it, send a midi CC message on channel 1 to the MFT. If the MFT doesn’t display the value you just sent then I think it needs reconfiguring.
I was a bit wary about doing a factory reset on the MFT as I'd spent so long setting it up but I did that and the feedback worked. Thanks so much for the advice, I thought I had tried pretty much everything.
For anyone else, I tracked it down to the System MIDI Channel global setting on the MFT. With this set to 1 the feedback didn't work. The factory settings had this as 4 and changing it to 4 on my settings sorted the issue. Exporting and importing the settings also worked fine so I was able to restore what I'd originally set up.
Thanks again for your time @espiegel123, it's such a better experience having the LEDs respond to changes from within Loopy.
To clarify, the source of the issue is that the feedback from Loopy comes back on the same channel as the learned channel. So, if the cc’s are sent on channel X loopy sends the feedback on channel X
