Judging from this response it looks like no audio tracks or timeline? Too bad. ๐
If you look closely at the posted video a time-line is definitely there...
And most likely very good options for importing and recording samples & loops too...
...no clue yet on how long samples though...
I could've sworn I saw a timeline, but not sure if there were audio tracks or not. I heard there may be, but then again it looks like it comes with a nice audio editor. Unless audio tracks are in the works, which is why GR2 will be released a bit later.
this is what iโm excited for. instead of sequencing through a menu on the original app
LoopyPro doesn't have dedicated 'audio tracks' either, but you can record very long audio loops and slap them on the time-line...
Without audio tracks itโs essentially NS2 with a different UI, no?
I really don't see why people keep thinking this and NS2 may be equivalent. They don't appear to me anything alike in terms of approach. NS2 is a straight-up DAW. This is a groove box with certain DAW capabilities.
A motorcycle and an SUV will both get you from point-A to point-B, but they're hardly clones of each other.
(btw, I'm pretty sure in one of those videos I also saw audio clips on the timeline. Maybe it was my imagination though.)
And one commenter asked if it is for Mac and he answered that it is currently only for iPadOS
Someone else asked about audio tracks, but Jim didn't exactly say "yes" or "no" and only confirmed Midi FX, effects and instrument plugins. So I simply asked outright to see if there'll be a conclusive "yes" or "no". I could've sworn I saw audio tracks, or at least audio editing of some sort.
Edit: I'm one of the ones who said it could be like NS2 but with audio tracks. ๐ But, then again, I could always be wrong. Wouldn't be my first time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they saw audio on the timeline. Based on @SigiL's post, I'm guessing now that sampler audio clips just show up with their waveform representation in the timeline.
I sure hope this is the case. Would be nice to be fair.
My bad, meant to say no audio tracks or AUDIO timeline. That seems to be confirmed by jimaudio now.
Wasn't it just related to the old habit of regularly nagging about missing audio tracks in NS2? ๐
That'd be some artful passive agressivness for sure. ๐
no audio tracks
I got to this forum when I fell in love with GR-16, someone told me that there was a good thread about it here, I READ IT ALL, completely, and got to know GR-16 inside out, every little detail.
Sadly I out grow it, but I haven't found anything as hand on and well thinked since. For example koala is awesome, but it's a constant flipping pages and opening menus, GR-16 i did everything with a couple buttons.
Details that for example holding the arrows that change the pad and tapping a pad focus instantly on that pad are incredible.
Auto grow when recording like in drambo would be awesome, I'm hoping this improves the sequencing.
Yes, I'm hyped.
Well... there are the loops. And you could just slap Multitrack Recorder or Loopy there too
Only if the app gives access to the hardware audio input and lets you route audio from it to plugins. NS2, for example , has a sampler but doesnโt have a way to get hardware audio input to plugins.
I wonder can GR2 be hosted as an instrument auv3? Cuz realtime time stretching sampler is appealing
You caught me out - I wasnโt being artful, thatโs too much credit as actually I was being a bit of a nob really, however yeah there was passive aggressiveness in my comment and, to be fair I do kind of stand by it and will be interested to see if there are similar types of comments like those that are directed towards NS2 if 6 or 12 months down the line Jim has not added audio tracks.
classic this forum.. audio tracks are first class world problem ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
5 minutes long time-strech stereo sampler looks like octatrack approach to meโฆ amazingโฆ canโt wait to this beautyโฆ
Somewhere there is still a dude chained to a tree until NS2 gets audio tracks. He's cold.

work to the iOS strengths, hopefully it's a groove box and not a DAW.
No.. we did not forget you.. Mr. Jim Audio..
I have been entering the forum mainly to check the status on this
Hopefully soon..
Only brought Hilda this year
But definitely interested in this one
