7III Tap - Ableton Live Controller for iPad and iPhone
7III Tap is an iOS app I made to control Ableton Live, offering functionality similar to Push. It's free for testing (with a daily time limit)!
Currently, I’m working on adding a step sequencer. After that I will try to add a horizontal orientation for iPad, as it’s the most requested feature.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to share them here!

Fantastic App for controlling Ableton.
Landscape mode for iPad would be really cool an made it more useful. Step sequencer, great 😊
Full support!
Thank you!!
This has recently been updated, and now includes a pattern sequencer. Works very well indeed on iPad, although the sequencer is a bit fiddly on iPhone.
Hi @nilsmango
Looks amazing. Is the app compatible with earlier iOS? I’m considering Premium purchase to use on iPad, but I am running iOS 16
Runs fine for me on 16.6.
Sweet, thanks for the check-in on this.
Yes, very fiddly indeed
- we might work on that in the future!
Much appreciated!
I’m curious to see how much of a drag the set up is, im not a big fan of using RTP Midi + someone’s proprietary connection app. Touchable Pro offers a direct one step connection
Just bought it cause very cool to use and a new way (for me) to create something in Ableton.
The sequencer is a bit hard to use, it would be great to have the possibility to zoom out but maybe it is not the point to edit notes here. The tracks can be polished directly in Ableton...
I use it wired and it's very easy; download a script, place it in the Remote folder, use Audio Midi Setup to enable the iPad/iPhone, and set up the connections in Live. My computing skill are only a little above those of a whelk, so it can't be that hard...
Sounds smooth
Are you Mac or PC?
I noticed in the manual the hard wire connect is recommended particularly for Mac but seemed like it would be fine for PC, but it isn’t explicitly mentioned…
Mac.
I’m going to try hard wire with the PC first. I am running out of i/o but wire is preferred. Unless my issue with RTP is me…
Can you work with audio clips with this app? Insert them into a track after browsing, warp them etc?
