Loopy Pro + Synthstrom Deluge

I’m a heavy user of both Synthstrom deluge and Loopy pro and a while back I decided to combine them. This was one of my best decisions ever!

This combination is almost magic! It feels that they are ment for each other. I finally made a video where I demonstrate how I combine these:

Hope you like it!

  • very cool idea - thanks for sharing.

  • Nice video. 👍🏼

This is similar to one of the best side-benefits of Loopy Pro for my workflow - offloading CPU load for my older iPad. I can build up jams all day by just committing AUv3 heavy tracks to audio as I go. Loopy's idling of plugins when not in use frees up virtually all the resources when they're not in use, but they're still there in the state I left them if I want to revise something or add new tracks.

I like your usage here, keeping Loopy's involvement simple, to mainly accomplish one thing - offloading work from the Deluge. I think a lot of people will find this video helpful.

That happens to some people and not others. It's a google/YouTube thing and beyond the forum's control. There's a thread about it somewhere.

I reckon that could be the standard response to anyone who has a question about anything around here…💁‍♂️🙂

No. That one is already taken by "Drambo can do it."

    Previously "SunVox can do it"

Thank you for the kind words! :) Glad you liked it.

Yeah I've noticed that Loopy pro handle AUv3s very efficiently. I remember the days when I used apps like BM3. And the way it handled multiple AUv3s was a complete mess. In LP everything just works, and almost every time when you load up an old song, it sounds exactly like it did when you left it.

  • Love the video. I am using similar setup, Deluge/digitakt2 and ipad, and was thinking to use loopy pro for exact same reason as you do. Until today i was using deluge as a midi sequencer for ipad with few sounds coming for new dx7 implementation in Deluge. Looking forward to video how you pair syntakt and loopy

Thanks mate :) I'm glad you liked it! And cool to hear that you also use the deluge sequencer for the iPad! I think it’s soo much better than loading Atom Piano roll and then trying to edit notes in there, is just a mess compared to on the deluge.

Unfortunately i don't have the Syntakt but I published a new video on where I combine OP-XY and Loopy Pro that seems to be more popular than the deluge video. I also have a video with the Digitone and Loopy ready that I will publish in the near future.

Funny you said this, i was actually so pissed off and frustrated trying to use this app the other day.
But yeah Deluge is one of my all time favorite, with new chord keyboard implementation, all the cord scales, new arp modes, automation, velocity and filter modulation plus performance and ableton live style grid, there is no other sequencer (maybe oxi one) like it.
Plus it has it's own synth engine and amazing BoD packs you already mentioned in your video
Using it with AUM and putting loopy on a bus channel as a recorder opens up many possibilities.
I watched the one with op xy and device is nice but just out of my budget for this year.

Yeah, true—the OP-XY is insanely expensive. I even had to sell some of my other synths to fit it into the studio budget 😄 Honestly, I almost feel a bit guilty for liking it as much as I do.
