Glad you got the NKS working proper for ya! Was the first Bluetooth piece I picked up and it's a beaut. It was put to back burner as other controllers were aquired, but I've just pulled it out again to mess with it
I forgot how I had it setup for Swam expressive play! I do have a PC to edit, don't remember if you can change cc msgs or not without, so ymmv
Buuut, I have the X/Y function setup for Vibrato (X) and Expression (Y), so the NKS works solo for Swam play
Just lost 2hr of potential sleep falling in love with the NKS again lol (thanks for bringing it back to the forefront of my brain!). Got a rather pretty mini piece starting to develop out of it!
Also, please let us know how the SMK-25ii feels for you! I REALLY want to get my hands on that and the SMK-25 mini, too ... But I don't have any need, so zero current justification as it's pure curiosity (well, I would like traditional keys. Between the NKS and Launchpad, I'm good on alternative style keys, but nothing close to 'real' lol)
I am fantastically hoping to make enough of a mark for M-Vave to send me review products. Also 8bitdo. I'm an absolute sucker for these two companies
Nice! I'm happy this thread inspired you to pull out the NKS again. I'm having a blast with it, although glad to have the M-Vave on its way too (which has more traditional piano keys). Having these controllers reminds me of when I used to have the OP-1 Field. Except now it's an iPad (or even iPhone) being controlled by a keyboard. Fun times.
Got my M-Vave SMK-25 first gen (it's not the MK-II, but it honestly doesn't need to be for me to play in notes live!), and I already created two ideas. One is going to be an EDM idea for the future, but the second idea is going to be in line with the likes of "Rondo" and "Heading Back Home".
Nice! Do you know if you can use the usb port on yours to send midi? I don’t have any usb c to midi cables yet so i haven’t been able to test on my mk2
I'm not sure. I simply use it wirelessly with my iPad.
The other M-Vave gear I know about can connect and be powered/charged over USB. I have the Chocolate pedal and it can work that way, which is one of the reasons I prefer it over my iRig Blueboard.
Not that I perform live any more, but old habits die hard and I don't trust anything wireless in a live venue.
I've owned it for years. Especially ideal for iPad.

Looks quite lovely, that. ☺️ I may consider that one for the future.
Okay, so I have a really dumb rudimentary question about the SMK-25. Is there a way to adjust velocity range in the SMK-25 without the need to use the Cube Suite app? The reason I ask is...
I searched the instructions and Google, and only got answers saying "use the app".
The app itself has a 2.2 rating on the Appstore.
The app seems to be half English, half a different language I haven't learned to read/speak yet. 😅
I'd really prefer to record a flat velocity (around 100 out of 127) but still maintain a loose timing (i.e. I turn quantisation off).
Any help would be most appreciated. 🙏

I can't say towards the SMK-25, but as for CubeSuite, I've had nothing but success with the app (for the Chocolate Foot Controller, SMC-Pad, and SMC-Mixer) for the past 6 months
Heh, I weirdly joined up in a beta run for it when I got my hands on the SMC-Pad before it popped up on even AliExpress, a random Amazon search com one available thru all of Amazon and I nabbed it
The app didn't have SMC-Pad support at that point and I got in touch with M-Vave via Facebook and was troubleshooting issues with em xD
But I still use it any time a new layout idea pops (still too frequently... Forever jonseing for That One Setup that does it all), and no issues. After the SMC-Pad got full support after a few months, of course
Really the only other option (that I was told months ago, but I haven't seen any other options pop up otherwise) for getting into the nitty gritty of the internals is via pc/mac. And at the start of the year, when I HAD to use it, it felt jankier than the iOS app
Why not just The cube suite app??
As I stated above...
Unless that's only how it appears in screenshots? 🤷♂️
I use cube suite all the time and i only know how to read English 🤣 i haven’t seen anything else pop up on it
Lol! 😂 Okay fair. I'll give it a shot. Thanks mates.
if it turns out you can’t read the shit just start pressing buttons and sliding sliders 🤣 at least its free
Yeah, I've had no issues understanding the app at all with the three devices. All English that I've seen, mebe just the pix show that (never honestly took note lol)
EDIT Oh yeah. Here’s the 3rd pic from the App Store
And here’s a screencap of my iPad just now with the same controller connected
So you should be golden
😂🤣
Phew that's excellent mate! Thank you.
Yeah Cubesuite is great, no worries about it at all. I've never had something save improperly, it's lightweight and syncs to all three of my M-Vave devices, fast. Never crashed on me once. Doesn't want tons of tracking info.
Seems like most of the bad store reviews expect it to do a lot more than set up a $20-50 controller and edit that config. Complaints about not having custom profiles and not understanding instructions, not sending MIDI out to their daw, and random reviews that make me think they never bothered to consider instructions.
I used the CubeSuite iOS app yesterday for the first time with the IR Box and had no issues. Since I was transferring IR files it wound up being easier to use it on my Mac but it did connect with no issue on iOS. I have a similar keyboard with whatever brand is on it and used to have the cubebaby and CubeSuite was fine with those too.
That's great to hear. Okay, with that in mind I should be good to go. Thanks friend.
Okay, update. Cube Suite works smooth as silk! It recognised my M-Vave controller perfectly without any issues.
