A new M-wave pocket controller.
This looks pretty interesting. It’s not on Amazon yet but I just ordered one from reverb for $35 bucks. I’ll drop an update once I receive it.

That looks pretty cool! Hope you like it.
I myself have an SMK-25 that'll arrive tomorrow, and a Korg NKS. I'm just first now getting into Bluetooth MIDI controllers.
I have the smk-25 II and I was impressed with the quality relative to its low price - I think you’ll like it. Im a sucker for small portable gear with the time i spend in the car with kid pick-ups and lessons.
I'm glad to hear that.
I like small portable gear too, mainly to use at my desk (which has limited space) or on my bed (I have a lapdesk I sometimes use).
Are you kidding? Assuming you purchased yours from Amazon, I’m wondering if Amazon vendors are doing that dynamic pricing practice. I spent a good hour yesterday, split up into different sessions, trying to score an SMK-25ii. The only vendor that had it for $89, said no delivery until after x-mas. I could have had one today, but for $99. So i gave up. Unless, you purchased the original, and not the mkii?
I'm a BIG fan of the og SMC-Pad as a beginner finger drum option (same as linked, but with 8 endless encoders and transport buttons)
The pads are a bit tighter feeling than a Launchpad X or Korg Nanopad (my only two reference points otherwise), but with a little play (or not having others to feel in comparison), there's little issue. I still pull it out for quick practice... And it's potential with Koala is just stellar
For the price, it's unbeatable
Hella curious if this is the same feel, just minus the extra knobs and buttons
(Sigh... I really don't need more cheap M-Vave hardware.... Yet now this is added along with the smk-25ii and smk-25mini I've been trying to justify.... Just to scratch my collection completionist hyperfixation. And here we are lol)
Honestly, I want to see the potential of pairing with OneShot. With sale prices, that would be $12 for the app and $35 for what should be a decent starter pad (if it IS just the same as the og SMC-Pad minus the extra controls) -- under $50 to get into legit finger drumming? Crazy potential at schools and such
Seems it could be the original, not sure. What I do know is it should hook up to my iPad and do the basic things I need it to do. Control some parameters, play some notes, etc. 😉
Are the pads on the upper-right-hand side of the unit? Or are they underneath the knobs?
Thank you @mikewb for the share, and @PapaBPoppin for sharing your experience with it.
Upper right hand side.
Ok. First generation. Makes more sense my search difficulties. Thanks for clarifying!
Not a problem mate.
First gen? Good enough for me mate. I'm so grateful to have that and the NKS.
If anyone wants to continue using their USB-based MIDI controllers wirelessly, I can recommend the Yamaha UD-BT01 USB MIDI to Bluetooth MIDI bridge.
As for the above, I'm curious about the build and operation quality after a few months of use.
I'd rather trust an Arturia Beatstep tbh, which also has 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads plus 16 endless knobs which are great to have - plus a built-in step sequencer for free.
@rs2000 ”for free”??!! I’ll have a dozen!
while we are at it: i highly recommend this one. For me this are the best pads i played for quite some time (i had/have mpc one one, Maschine + , Akai Force, Ableton Move and know them well). aluminium enclosure, multiple pad/knob banks and even an ipad editor. Great buildquality (feels like an apple product 😁) Reasonable price.
I found it by accident in a friends studio and immediately bought one for 75€ used.

Haha, makes sense when you have a dozen of tracks 😄
