What's is going on here? Is there some kind of group suicide pact going on or something? Because I'm absolutely not going to join in.
What's going on is some people leaving because of being unhappy at the level of moderation here. Somewhat ironically, the reasons for certain threads being closed almost always have nothing to do with he original posts, but the direction others sometimes lead them down.
It's understandable if that's taken personally, understandable that people differ over what should be acceptable, and understandable if people would prefer to hang out someplace that suits them better. It's not possible to keep everyone (anyone?) happy.
I'll miss those who don't feel at home here for sure.
Looks like a couple of people are taking a break from the Forum. They can always come back and will be most welcome.
Sometimes a little sanity break can be a good thing. Been there myself.

Was not paying much attention to the UFO thing… But authorities in Virginia have advised the people, ‘Do not shoot at the Drones/UFO’..
This does not happen everyday..
The reason would probably be because of the falling bullets accidentally hitting someone else I presume.

Yes.. and it can be really sad if it does hit someone. it took all of 3 minutes to find this. Don’t really have it in me to look for more, but improbable isn’t the same as impossible.

Bullets rarely hit the ground , but the people that the bullets hit often do.
Would be tragic if you left Irene, though I definitely understand and have felt like leaving many times myself. Maybe one day I will bite the bullet and join you out in yon Hinterland. Stay in touch, your writing is the best on this forum (imo—disclaimer: I only deal in opinions, never facts!), truly inspiring, and your ambient noises (however ‘uncontemporary’ 😁) ain’t half bad either!

sorry y'all. i'm very aware that bullets fall to the ground and can hit others. I live in a neighborhood where shots go up just for fun all the time, we joke it keeps the rent down because it's an increasingly gentrified area. sometimes someone catches one
was just a poke at flat-earth/gravity not being real, felt relevant and was a misguided attempt at humor
It's increasingly clear that the government knows exactly what is going on, but they don't want to inform the public for whatever reason. The incoming President just said he was not going to comment when he was asked if he knew what they were/what was going on. It's the responsibility of the current administration to to inform the public.
