Why aren't more people talking about Protein Der Klang?
I'm curious about it. Somehow, it never got on my radar until now.
But it seems like no one ever brings it up, even in conversations about Samplr. There's a few old threads here, but nothing else:

http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/4605/protein-der-klang-updated/p1
This leads me to believe the app is mediocre, but I'd love to hear feedback from people who use it regularly (not just people who have tried it and found it "interesting").

Probably the name. Sounds like a German breakfast drink.
Ah, its brilliant that app, really cool, I have a video somewhere on the channel I did ages ago, I should do another
Just bought it prompted by this thread! Now teach me how to use it! I'll have to dig up your video Doug. I remember not thinking much about samplr when I first got it....
Here it is, although there is no talking in this, I think I will do a proper one, I do think @supadom will like this
Yes please Doug. At the moment it feels a bit like one of those games where you're supposed to find hidden gems. Where the hell is audiocopy? Somebody mentioned in the other thread that the dev brought audiocopy in. That is for copying in own samples right?
I'm a vegetarian!
@supadom Press 1, 2, 3 for audiopaste.
I hope that helps. It needs an update for iOS8. I don't think there's a way to record a performance without AB.
You can actually record your performance in app , even resample right into another clip. It's very cool, but hard to figure out at first. I spent some time with the manual to figure out what was going on. I always wanted audiobus output slot for it because the audiopaste was not very user friendly.
@BvsMV I haven't used it in a long time so I don't remember but if it's the circle button to record the performance then it still needs an update because that button crashes the app for me.
Cheers @firejan82
No problem
Haven't used it for quite a time although I really appreciate the app. Reading this thread I rediscovered it again but now I found that I couldn't paste samples into Protein under IOS 8 anymore. They don't show up in the samples folder after following the copy/paste-routine. Anyone else who experienced this?
I just tried and it was like you described. I'll send them another email, I already sent them one about the record button crashing, there's a button for a feedback email - envelope icon.
@firejan82 do let us know if you get any response/if they're still in the game etc.
Sure
Thanks @firejan82.
Struck me as being a pretty nifty app but I found the UI to be a bit impenetrable at first & if I recall, it landed a hd same time as a whole raft of apps so never invested the necessary time to get on top of it. Shame on me.
It was a bit impenetrable for me too. Seemed like a great app hidden under UI confusion. I'd love an instructional video (EVERY DEV SHOULD DO THIS FOR THEIR APPS!).
I like it, did a thing with it last night but it's been a bit forgotten since I discovered TriqTraq which I find more fun to jam with...
Hi there, I'm Pierre from Protein DK.
Just wanted to let you know version 1.3 is on its way to the App Store.
Here's the changelog:
• Record audio from another audio app using Audiobus
• Updated Audio engine with lower input & output latency
• Added Audiobus 2 support (version 2.1.4)
• Updated Audio Copy 2 support (version 2.2.4)
• 32 & 64bit app
• iOS 7 & 8 compatible
If you want to give it a go before it goes live you can send me an email with your first / last name and your Apple ID email so I can register you as a beta tester.
Thanks for your support!
Nice!
yep, this is the closest thing to ableton
Cool, the app record will be useful. Latency is ok even on my ipad2 so with improvements it should handle longer samples well.
Thanks for the update
yes the clips launching is excellent and I can not wait to use it for making my own clips.
@Gorgull bought this on the back of some forum member enthusiasm. Although there is also talk of confusion and steep learning curves...any documentation or better yet videos you would suggest to encourage new users?
Thanks.
hmm, for some reason my youtube link won't post
search for jolu msosa
not exactly a tutorial but I find VJ FRANZ K vids quite entertaining
