Looking for a moziac script -- or other way to move to specified (sequenced) transpose increments

Ive been using Mela and Brams Scalar to move already sequenced material to various chord changes and have yet to find a way to sequence them to the specific transposition to match the current chord.

Specifically, I cant figure a way to transpose Pure Acids baseline sequences to my chord progression. I know that other apps can do this by themselves, such as Riffer, iBassist, and Cem's AutoBass app. However, I find that Pure Acid is unique in how expressively/tastefully it sequences basslines.

LMK if you have a solution.

I'm don't think I understand. If you send the midi output from Pure Acid through Scaler and to another synth, won't it accomplish what you want? What's missing?

  • Or are you saying you want something to transpose the midi as if internally to play Pure Acid's sequencer in a different key on the same instance.

That can't work. But there's nothing stopping you from sending the midi out from Pure Acid, through Scaler, to another instance of Pure Acid to play it.

  • @wim sometimes I think English is my second language - lol

I want to be able to have Pure Acid react to INCOMING midi chords to transpose its pattern. It won’t/can’t. So I’m trying to do it after the midi leaves Pure Acid. I have already transposed the outgoing midi through scalar and the like as well. What I’m trying to do is have a sequenced or lfo enabled modulation hit specific transpositions like from CEG up say GAD. I’m trying to coordinate Pure Acid to the chord progression of the rest of my composition.

  • Ahh, so you need a transposer that can be controlled by midi notes or other messages to pass the Pure Acid output through.

The Input Transpose AUv3 parameter should work for this in Rozeta Scaler, but so far I can't get it to respond to midi CC's. It does respond to note velocity, but that seems like a tricky one to sequence.

So it looks like you may need two plugins then. One to transpose the notes and one to quantize them to scale, and for the transposer app to respond to midi notes. There is at least one that would work listed on the Mozaic Scripts wiki page.

I haven't investigated Note To Be. That seems a likely candidate for one plugin that could maybe do it all.

  • Humm ... I don't see anything in the App Store description of Note to Be that indicates in/out transpose via midi.

If true and there's no other single plugin to do it, this is kind of nudging me toward putting a pre and post transpose into a new version of Simple Scaler.

However, Midi Note Shifter running into Simple Scaler seems like it would do what you need.
