    Nice! Merry Christmas!

  • Great piece Joseph!
Not sure what is motivating your decision, but I hope you'll reconsider and keep posting your creations. We already lost 2 great regular creators, don't add another one on the list.

  • Thank you @JanKun. Posting here is pointless and futile for me. I explained why many times.

  • Sounds good Joseph. I guess I have to join Bandcamp.
    Merry Christmas!

Thanks @pbelgium :-) no need to join BC ;-)

  • Really well done orchestration. Did you use Staffpad?

I'm relieved you're not leaving entirely, and I'm already following you on Bandcamp thankfully so that I'm notified of new releases. Hopefully you do reconsider posting in Creations, but I understand that it's your choice. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors mate.

  • Thank you @jwmmakerofmusic
I don' t use staffpad. I tried but it is of no use to me. I cn't adapt to the forced pencil writing.

  • Outstanding as usual Joseph! What can I say that hasn’t already been said? I do hope you’ll continue sharing your brilliant work.

I don't use Staffpad for the same reason mate. What did you use for your sounds? :)

  • @jwmmakerofmusic the same usual suspects: spitfire orchestra, my own samples

That's pretty amazing. :) Well done mate. 👏

  • This and your other Christmas creations are pieces of music most of us could only aspire to… best wishes Joseph 🙏

  • says the guy with the magic touch ;-) Thank you bro. Merry Christmas to you and yours <3

Seems we won't get any tracks from @Svetlovska and @LinearLineman shared here. Very sad news. Still hoping they will change their mind ...

  • Nice track @jo92346
    Merry Christmas

That's sad. They were big part of this place.

  • Beautiful arrangement of a classic. Well done.

I agree, both will be terribly missed and are a huge loss for the creation section of this forum. Eventually this happened in relatively general indifference but I am sure both of them received lots of love in PM. Now if @jo92346 leaves too, the creation section landscape will start to look more and more like the Artic Tundra. Tundra sparse vegetation can be extremely beautiful though.

From what I understood, they didn't feel it was right to burry the "other" section in the remote Siberian part of the forum. On a positive note, it seems the free speech gates on non musical topics have been somehow kept opened there in an experimental attempt. Still you need a snowplough to access it ❄️ 🥶 🤣

  • @jankun I decided to stop sharing my music here due to a lack of meaningful feedback. Feedback has always been crucial for me: not just compliments, but any criticism that highlights what is wrong or could be improved in my music. I’ve always valued inputs that challenges me to refine my craft. Unfortunately, despite putting effort into sharing my work here, meaningful feedback has been sparse at best.

Even when people do listen more than the first 15sec, it often feels like the music is being ignored, as there’s rarely any indication of what people think, let alone detailed insights. This is expected behavior on YT and streaming platforms, but I guess I set my expectations too high. And then, while I used to at least receive some encouraging comments, even those have become infrequent.

This experience has left me feeling like this isn’t the right space for me. It is just too aggravating, and I don't need any more aggravation. I deeply appreciate those who have engaged with my work in the past, but without the dialogue I’ve been seeking, I believe it’s time to focus my energy elsewhere.

I think when posting, if you want meaningful feedback, you should simply ask for it. If we like what we hear, and aren't listening with a critical ear, then we'll simply leave a compliment. I personally wouldn't want to leave critical feedback only to be told off by the creator that "you're being a dick" (which has happened elsewhere in the past, even when I tried sugarcoating things).

Your pieces seem fine to me and are in fact quite enjoyable. I honestly can't hear anything wrong with your rendition of "Carol of the Bells".

  • I think Jim your last sentence sums it up for me… I listen to your music Joseph and 99% of the time I just enjoy it for what it is.

Offering constructive criticism would be like (and I know you won’t agree with this) me offering a critique of Bach’s unaccompanied Cello Suites… what am I going to say?… ‘Very good but a bit of piano would have been nice’. Or the Rites of Spring… ‘Enjoyed it but thought the rhythms were a bit odd’.

They are so far above my musical knowledge and abilities that any comment is meaningless so I just sit there, listen and thoroughly enjoy them.

So I guess your comment about the forum being the wrong one for you is, given your expectations, perhaps, sadly correct.

That doesn’t mean though that the people here don’t value your input and look forward, as a I do, to when you next post a piece of music.

At the end of the day though it’s you that matters so I hope you find the solution that brings you the most peace 🙏

  • @jwmmakerofmusic I've been asking for that since I registered here.

@GeoTony You are a fellow artist, you input is invaluable. I'm not bach even if I wish I was. I posted to get your (you and all the other artists here) inputs, recommendations. At worseit could have made me think of something I didn't think of.

On top of that audiobus really became a gear and apps forum, and I'm not into those things.

I understand your point. In a way I could take a mirror and face it right at you. You regularly send me kind and praising words (which I am very grateful for) but never extremely critical details. And you do it because that's how we, social animals, interact superficially like on a forum. When dematerialized in front of a screen there is less commitment and attachment to the other.
Your music reached a remarkable level of precision and details. It is not common. You should be aware of that. You're beyond criticism for most of the people in this forum because most simply dream to be able to achieve even the tenth of what you achieve on a very regular basis.
You'll probably never find a place with the level of feedback you're craving for. My guess is that even on professional composer forum, you would get some feedback but mostly will get either overlooked, or ignored by fear of competition.
you should also be aware that you're very prolific. People have their own life and don't necessarily have the time to listen critically to everything you release.

My only advice would be to choose the company of the creators you appreciate the most and if you can within the scope of your communication skills, try to Approach them privately with PM instead of publicly. Create bonds. What matters more than the feedback you get is the person you get it from. If you remember well, I tried to approach you a few times in the past, but you reaction made me feel like I was disturbing. So I stopped.
I see that you joined the @offbrands discord and that's great start. But again be aware not to be too full of expectations from the others. The most important is that you like doing what you're doing and being able to enjoy listening to it without the producer ears. In other words, you should be your number one fan as a listener. Sounds narcissistic , but that's what creation is all about.

@JanKun that is the problem. I'm not aware of "that", and I'm definitely not my number one fan, not even number 14 or 78 or 29847.
Anyways, people who want "critical details", just ask, tag me in your music and add some text like "hit me hard". I did try that a few times and it never was welcome.

Sorry to hear that. You'd have all the reason to enjoy your music should you listen to it with different ears/mindset. Think of the very first time you put your hand on an instruments and how it sounded and consider how far you've come. You're way too hard on yourself. Maybe start by being your 92346th fan 😉
