Iconica, Fugue and GeoShred Jam

Following the release of Steinberg's Iconic Sketch for iPad, and watching @TheSoundTestRoom 's video using Fugue Machine to control several instances of Iconica, I decided to do something similar but added GeoShred so I could play a melody over the top.

Comments

  • Nice playing. The melody really brought the Fugue parts alive :)

  • @AlterEgo_UK

    This is really cool.

  • Cheers, @Gravitas - glad you liked it.

  • Kool! 👍 Really enjoyed the GeoShred jam! 🎸🎸🎸

  • love it, thanks.

So much complexity with just 4 notes! Iconica sounds great. Gotta try this myself now.

  • Cheers @MrStochastic - yes Iconica Sketch sounds really great - especially at that introductory price! Fugue Machine is also very versatile too!

It's frustrating for me that Fugue Machine seems to have been abandoned by the developer. In the past I suggested that it could definitely use the AU parameters exposed for automation and also that it if notes could be played into it's timeline or even if you could at least hear the notes you're entering as you put them in it would be a big improvement. I feel like I'm just blindly sticking notes in and hoping for the best.

I wish some enterprising dev would create something with same idea to fill in this neglected niche. I still enjoy playing with it though. Impressed with what you did with it.

  • Outside of using or modifying the presets, I consider Fugue Machine to be a “Happy Accident” generator, rather like Riffer.

Someone built a fugue machine patch inside Drambo: https://patchstorage.com/fugue-machine/

  • Nice to have you back jamming Colin, great use of the apps 👍

Could be built in MiRack but would require some extra work to put together. Also, tight jam!

  • Nice ! I I wonder if the inventor of Midicake hardware arp generator took some inspiration from “Fugue “

  • Cheers @Telstar5 - I don't know the Midicake hardware

  • I haven’t watched the Sound Test Room video (I don’t need to be tempted to buy anything else) so this was a nice surprise. Well done.

  • Thanks @MadeofWax . @azul3D_Apps has also done a couple of nice videos of a similar setup but with just Piano Motifs controlling Iconica. It is only short…but sweet!
