guitar as midi unit using AUV3 ?

is there a way to add my electric guitar in loopy pro and connect the guitar to auv3 effects, similar to how we connect a midi keyboard but rather use my guitar?

Comments

  • i should add, currently i plug my guitar into audiofuse sound card and play and record into loopy, works fine but would be great to somehow add effects to the guitar inside loopy, that has to be a way!! ? or not

In Loopy’s mixer you can add effects. Expand the mixer with the arrows on the right to put it into extended mode.

See the mixer section of the manual:

Or are you talking about using your guitar as a midi controller to control AUv3 instruments? If that is what you want, you will need something like Midi Guitar 2 which turns a guitar into a midi controller.

  • yes i wanted to use my guitar as a midi controller to essentially play the guitar with given AUV3 effects. i will look into midi guitar 2, is that an app or something we can add to loopy?

It is an app and AUv3 plugin and can be used in Loopy Pro as a midi controller and as a guitar effect.

There is a wiki page showing how to set up the routing in Loopy Pro:

Did you purchase the IAP? If not, you may be in demo mode

What iPad do you have? It works fine on my iPad 6.

That's how the free demo version intentionally works. You need to purchase the in-app purchases for Midi Outputs and AUv3 hosting to get it out of demo mode.
