Sequenza - free midi "daw" Mac

edited December 2024 in Desktop

Sequenza! I came across this yesterday and when started first time it wants to scan your plugins, that took a long while and when finished - it crashed. So, I skipped the scan and finally had a look: this is very, very much like some kind of DAW but for MIDI and there are so many options, I haven't heard of many of them before. Anyone here used it!?

@McD Could you please have a look at this as it's probably a helper more for composers and/or people who can read and write music.

It does have step recording and that alone will make it useful, even for me.

It's seems so advanced and well developed, why no marketing? Why free?

    Website

Edit: It seems a bit buggy and I can't get it to read the plugin libraries (it takes AUV3 too) and maybe that's the answer why it's so low-key

I got excited to test but I’m on my iPhone.

Now I see it’s Mac OS only. I’ll try that later. Maybe it will expose ideas suitable for new Mozaic scripts. Developers might check it out for their app designs.

Hey McD, they have updated it now and it seems stable. First start still takes some time reading your plugins - I recommend after it's done to save something and restart the app so you're good with that part.

I choose one of the templates : a three part rock band (ha ha) and just started to play around and I soon had tested some step recording whatnot. I recorded from midi to sheet which I never seen before.

Again, I'm in a bit of a chock this vast app is free and well: unknown? as it seems. Is it a dog buried somewhere?
