Bidirectional midi feedback using the LaunchPad X.

Yes, it is going to be available for other midi controllers.

Those are being tested now.

So exciting!! @Gravitas is it possible for me and/or @203Null (creator/developer) to aid testing with a newer controller: Mystrix/Pro? I know it has a few Drambo users that would love to see the implementation tight on launch

Ask the dev @giku_beepstreet it's up to him, I'm just sharing.

By the way does the Mystrix Pro respond to cc messages, midi note messages and sysex?

One minute let me get the manual....

I believe it should! I’m only a few days in memorizing the manual myself 😂

  • Who ever subs now will be lucky number 666 to the beepstreet channel 🤘🏽🤟🏽

  • Haha amazing! Is it out now for LPX use or it's coming with an update?

Crap, yet another reason to get this other Arduino project underway

Currently most USBmidi adapters default to midi port, not DAW port on a Launchpad X... Which is good for Note and Custom users, but locks out Session

And Prizm sequencer also utilizes Session, so I gotta hardwire for that too

So I wanna make a small box with (first step) two USB out for two BTusb adapters, then fiddle with Arduino nano to use one adapter and the onboard for the 2nd, and mash it into one box with a battery...

However, that's really all unneeded info here... I have an idea!

Man, this is exciting! I love direct physical controls like this. It's weird how much concentration is needed for touchscreen when (ironically) a specific touching sensation is removed. I only re-realize it after map controls to something I've been using on screen for a bit

The simple act of having one physical button to hit makes initial tempo setting loops almost mindless to set up, whereas on screen, it can take me a handul of tries

    Damn.

    I've already subbed.

try Sysex it maybe easier to do.

    Agreed.

Personally speaking I try to map everything on to my midi controllers.

We have a Sysex gen module now.
We can easily put the LP X into DAW mode now.
I have it switchable on screen between Session and Live mode.

Ok, sorry to diverge this a bit farther off your op content, but -- where can I find out how to do this? I REALLY want to understand more LPX control, and this sounds EXTREMELY helpful

Because sysex (and my utter ignorance to it) -- is it already possible to do this via a button in loopy? Or is this info still relegated to Drambo?

    No problem.

I'm currently live so pass through and we can have a quick chat about it.

  • I have LP X. I have Drambo. What does it mean to have it in DAW mode? Why is it the first time I’m hearing of this? Where else should i have been hanging out other than here and beepstreet? Is there also a Discord or something?

Loopy Pro can send sysex from a button. To learn about controlling the LPX download the programmer’s guide for it.

Both the LaunchPad Pro mk iii and the Launchpad X have two main modes which are Session view and Live view.
Session view is the view that we see when the LP's and Ableton Live are communicating directly with each other.

Why is it the first time I’m hearing of this? Where else should i have been hanging out other than here and beepstreet?

I'm sorry to say this however it's actually in the....manual....

Is there also a Discord or something?

    No,... there's no Discord.
It's Beepstreet Forum, LoopyPro Forum and Facebook.

You're not diverging of topic, it's an important part.
A week and a bit in we're still beta testing so by the time it reaches you some us will be doing tutorials for sure.
Also you can ask questions and we'll answer either here or on the https://forum.beepstreet.com/.
When it reaches the AppStore you will get the support you need.

Loopy Pro can send sysex from a button. To learn about controlling the LPX download the programmer’s guide for it.

This will be applicable for dRambo as well.
Though there will be a Factory song already mapped for the LP X,
when it's time to map your own projects the manual is going to be very useful especially
if you want to change the colours of the led's on the midi controllers that have this function.

This can also be done in Loopy Pro.

😆🤣 No need to be sorry. I appreciate you though, for pointing out the obvious in a non-condescending manner 👍

  • Ok, so thinking back to this thread, I realized I completely misread - haven't had a working desktop in a few years so the Launchpad X hasn't seen Ableton yet. So I didnt connect Live mode to "Ableton" Live mode (if that's what it is)

With that, does Live Mode include Notes/Custom? Or is that referencing just the drum/samplr page that only pops up when connected to Ableton Live?

  • will the timestretch algo be fixed? as far as i can see/hear it sort of just reverses the audio and is not usable. sound like mush.

    maybe I'm using it wrong?
