What actually works - particularly on YouTube, but also other sites - but is noninvasive too, in this category?

On desktop, it’s a breeze. iOS / iPadOS though, it seems more fraught with .. BS, perhaps.

    I never do it on iOS.

    I’ve been using Brave Browser to save YouTube vids to the browsers offline playlist cache. Only thing is that the media saved there can’t leave the browser area, but I can watch those saved videos offline anytime I want when away from Wi-Fi.
