Agreed!! This is the closest to the sound that you’re looking for 👍🏽

Sunrizer has some great bell sounds,
    mersenne, Mariselle

  • Toy box for Amelie, Pianoteq8.

  • If you ever stumble across one of these things........ get it.

Also, swan lake is the composition often imbued into boxes. If you can't score a solid synth, get the midi of swan lake and start FMing the heck out of it, load it in koala or smoke it in a blunt. Lots of options...

Here is a comprehensive list of the actual ballet. I think I'm going to make some Balboa drum kits from the various pieces.

  • Maybe RingsFX?

  • Ohh man, regarding the ringsFX... I have to suggest Ringotron!

Actually, this would be my go to outside of actual Speldosa. You can make some incredible shimmers, perfectly pitched bells and everything with Ringotron. The fkn thing is a powerhouse of options and is priced so unfairly(toward the dev) that I think everyone should own it.

I tried to find the Amelie Toybox thing, but had no luck.

I think deadpoetlive meant the Toy Piano for Amelie preset available in the Celeste Pianoteq pack

  • Makes sense. I just learned about Pianoteq. Doubt I'll ever own it though- I struggle to drop $30 for the best drum app ever created, so the pricing model for pianoteq is not meant for strugggling musicians. One day maybe!

But you can demo it without time limits and in many cases the demo will be enough - there aren't very many notes missing from the demo versions of the packs, worth trying. But yes, if you have a compulsion to collect apps, best stay away, as being a pianoteq completionist is very expensive!

Only 4 quid? Yeah that is an unfair price for the dev. But I just picked it up to have myself a go with the plugin. Might be useful for my next Ambient piece.

OneShot is definitely worth the $30. And as Gav said, Pianoteq has a demo mode. But also as Gav said, if you're a completionist, best to stay away. I'm a completionist, and I think I've spent upwards of $1000 on Korg Gadget and all its IAPs and its external compatible apps and their IAPs. 🫣

Yeah, the presets are incredible. I find myself getting a lot of percussion, movement, and life with many of the included presets.

@Gavinski, good looking out on mentioning Pianoteqs trial- I assumed it was unusable simply based on the price, lol. I have to check it out

I've been meaning to ask you what you think about the two iaps for piano motifs. Didn't you do a video on just the midi out iap or do u suggest both iaps?

I think the other one was for using it as an AUv3? That's worth getting for sure if you like the app. Do u still need the first midi out iap to use midi out from the AUv3? I'm not sure, I've forgotten, tho someone here will doubtless know.

    @deadpoetlive
    WOW!!!

$129 for the "stage" license, and with that comes 2 instrument packs..... I already have Ravenscroft (sp), and it rocks.

$50 for the Celeste pack (on its own)? for that price, they better bring a jewelry box over to my house and set it up

Did I miss the Black Friday sale?

  • Haha, no. I don't think they do sales. LOL.

I'm jacking with Speldosa thru Kebarp and it sounds so beautiful. It's wild getting Frisson from an iOS app, but Speldosa can do it.

  • @deadpoetlive what do u think of ravensoft(sp)? I was checking it and igrand out. Last "piano" I got was module pro.

I've not used Ravenscroft, but it sounds very good on vids with compared examples, I think better than pure piano which I do have. The thing I like about pianoteq is the dynamic range makes it feel really alive. It is far too expensive for iPad but the trial version is so usable. Ravenscroft was recently on sale and would definitely be worth it if you use a lot of piano...not on sale now. :-(

  • Beathawk's Musical Toys IAP includes Music Box samples. Don't own that one so can't comment on quality, sample type etc.
