ipad with laptop running win10
I would like to use my ipad and record into ableton on my laptop wunning windows 10. Sp do i need a powered usb hub to achive this plugged into my audio interface? I have a Behringer204HD audio interface will that give me any issues?

Do you have a headphone jack on the iPad?
If you're hoping to share the interface over USB, that is not possible. A USB system is like a tree, with one master host at the root. A powered USB hub is just part of the tree. It supplies power to the connected devices, and lets them communicate with the host.
Do you connect the audio interface to the iPad, or to the computer?
If the Windows machine has a stereo line-in you might be able to use the headphone or the two outputs into a stereo plug out from the 204HD attached by USB to the iPad. If the iPad has a headphone out, or a hub with one, you might be able to use that output from the iPad with the 204HD attached to the windows PC.
well probably the computer because I want to use the synths on the ipad and record into ableton on my PC
yes but see i want to play the synths on my ipad and record into ableton on my PC
oso using a CCK won't benefit me?
What were you expecting to be able to do with the CCK? It would just let you connect USB devices, like your interface, to the iPad.
You won't be able to transfer digital audio from iPad to computer over USB, if that's what you were hoping. It is possible to transfer a digital audio stream using ADAT, but you'd need significantly more hardware on both sides of the connection.
With a splitter you could send the headphone output of the iPad out to the channel 1 and 2 inputs on the UMC. Something like this: https://a.co/d/hYcAcum
I'm looking for the easiest way to accomplish this so if you know of an easier way please let me know so I want to record using some of my synths on my ipad and get it onto my PC so I can use it in my productions using ableton. I want to use model D, Model 15, Poison and of course Gadget just to name a few but in order to do this I wil,l need my audio interface which will involve in unplugging it from my PC and then connecting it to my ipad, but since I will be recording a bassline, or a synth riff and I do have cubasis but it just seems like over kill since I will just read a riff with it since I will not be doing multitrack with it, can you suggest an easier recording app I might use or ia cubasis the way to go? then I need to figure out how to get my recorded riffs onto the files app and then be able to access it from my PC.....I know this just seems like a ton of work just for a riff/bassline so if you have any suggestions to make my life easier with this I sure would appreciate your thoughts on all this...thank you in advance and I hope each of you are having a nice new years day
Search around on the forum for previous posts as I think there are some suggestions for various Windows software and drivers to make direct connections. I know it’s not easy on Windows, but it seemed doable from what I remember.
I believe it’s called Side Rack/Duo
You can enable file-sharing on your PC and connect to it using the Files.app (Connect to Server in the 3 dot menu) and move over the files once you have the on your iPad. Files from both Cubasis and Gadget folders are easy to access using Files.app.
Easiest way is to get an iconnect soundcard and its all done then, its my setup and i also have an SP. tried many other ways and its just a phaff.
That's Mac only.
The easiest thing to try is a headphone splitter cable out from your iPad's headphone jack and into the 204HD. It's certainly easier than the software alternatives, Sonobus and Studiomux (If you can even get Studiomux working), and cheaper than purchasing a new interface.
Or just export files and transfer them. Probably just as easy, and zero quality loss and latency issues.

When I'm using Drambo, I often enable the WebDAV server inside Drambo and mount it and access my files from Windows or MacOS. Sample import, stems and recordings export, all easy and wireless.
This is my preferred workflow because both stems and samples can be recorded in sync with the patterns so you don't need to cut anything in Ableton, just use the "loops" as they are.
For recording live audio, as @dblonde said, the iConnect Audio box can build the digital link over USB, or you could use 2 audio interfaces to connect both.
I actually got rid of the behringer soundcard and instead got me a presonus Audiobox96. Will that make things any easier with what I'm trying to accomplish?
If I use the headphone out of the ipad and connect to the input of my audio interface will it be stereo? using the headphone jack will I lose any audio quality by doing it this way?
No. It's basically the same as the one you replaced as far as inputs go.
If you use a splitter cable into the 1 & 2 mic inputs then you can have stereo.
Something like this should work, I think: https://a.co/d/h7irHsS
