Internet AUv3s
is there any YouTube AUv3 left that is working and not a scam?
Or are there other AUv3 apps that bring radio or podcasts or anything with sound from the internet into your fav DAW?

+1.
Great app.
Can’t wait to try this with the new Scratch Bud that just came out! At a late family Christmas thing right now, so ready to leave and try it out!
It's way fun grabbing loops from it in Loopy Pro, then doing obscene things to them. With Gauss, Salome, etc. too.
Oh yes and MolliLooper, koala etc
ah, thanks! forgot about that one
Dang i didn’t know that thing could YouTube?? Or is it radio only?
Radio only.
I was responding to the "...that bring radio or podcasts or anything with sound from the internet into your fav DAW?" part only.
Web Audio Player plays any audio on the web through your daw/host. It plays YouTube but does not show video, plus almost any streaming audio you can find on the Web.

Tube AU is $14.99 and is limited to YouTube only
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tube-au-audio-unit-player/id6529534029
Media Assistant with the Browser AUv3 + IAA IAP at $12.99 will play any audio on the web in your host/daw.

Web AU gives you access to the internet, YouTube, any site and plays audio but the line in does not come into your host/daw to apply fx, record, loop, etc… the web AU app is a cool resource but doesn’t bring any audio in to be used. Read App Store description for details.

I posted about this one, but someone on here said that the developer is not trustworthy
they had a YouTube app, too right? looks more trustworthy, cause its mani
Oh I must have missed that, I don’t personally have that app, but it’s the same developer as Media Assistant which most people seem to really enjoy.
Well I do know there were a few iterations of Tube AU, this is maybe the 3rd one.. 🤔 each from a different developer over the years. I can’t speak on this particular developer but if memory serves one of the Tube AU’s went down because of a partnership that split up. The partner that coded the YT access left the business so the developer had to stop selling the app.
I’m not a coder but I believe it’s hard to develop an app like this since YouTube is continuously changing the way apps can access the content. I don’t know the specifics but it was talked about on here a while ago and I remember it was said that it was quite complicated to pull off as an AU.
Maybe look into media assistant and the thread on that app.
I use Web Audio Player but I will admit it’s been a few months since I pulled up YouTube with it.
After a quick test I’m having Trouble with Web Audio Player. It worked maybe two months ago, but I’ve since updated to iOS 18 and above so maybe that broke something.
Well this stinks….
I’ll have to contact Blue Mangoo about Web Audio Player.
Now I just got Web Audio Player to work on Bandcamp maybe a momentary glitch. Some sites are working but YouTube is not.
Unfortunately YT hasn't been working for several months now. I've accepted that YT might have changed the code or blocked WAP from using it
Be careful with any app that offers youtube playback in an AUv3, I haven't seen one that wasn't pulled from the appstore after a few weeks or months.
There are free web sites offering audio and video extraction from youtube so you can download clips and use them offline.
For grabbing stuff from YouTube I usually just go for the classic YouTube mp3 downloaded approach, or if it’s really just a snippet I want I just use loopback on my interface (Scarlett 4i4 3rd gen) if I’m at my desk, which works really nicely with YouTube as slideover/split view/stage manager.
Yeah, I usually just get the sound out of YouTube myself
But these Tube AU apps got me a little excited. That would make things more spontaneous
I guess, I get the BeepStreet radio app for instant aether input and I do the old converter-o with the YouTubs
Koala is also useful for converting screen recordings from YouTube into usable samples
Thanks for confirming.
If serious enough about ripping YouTube and web stuff, an interface with a decent loopback capability is the only bulletproof solution.
A forum search for "Loopback" will turn up previous threads that may be helpful for reference.
I just tried playing YouTube in the AU browser in ‘Media Assistant’ in AUM. It plays but the audio does not feed into the channel so it cannot be used. This is just my experience using the latest version of Media Assistant. Maybe I’m missing something.
What about having a server on your pc that streams your pc audio as an online radio stream, could you then load that url on the au radio auv3?
