    Samplr and Sector, and EARHOOF!

Earhoof midi synced within loopy = best day ever, every day.

@papertiger, nice demos. Did you use Auria to piece then together?

nope, I just recorded the output from Sector into a computer. I don't think there was any stitching involved -- that was the point. A friend wanted me to convince him he should get it. :)

that's really good mate. Don't listen to a lot of idm or glitch but definitely scratches mine. :)

Thanks both :) Just a bit of mucking about really!

@Flo26, I looked at videos of Different drummer, but there is no mentioning of any FX???
It seems to be a sophisticated arp in a way?

Does anyone use ApeSoft stuff? iPulsaret or Stria?

I bought iPulsaret but it ran so badly on my iPad2 that I took it off - glitched like mad even as a standalone. Even when it wasn't glitching I was less than impressed with what it produced. A shame really as it should be perfect for the stuff I do, and their iVCS3 is brilliant. Maybe I'll give it another go in the future when I upgrade my iPad.

  • Different Drummer effects are built in, but I think it's better to run tracks through external effects. Still, it's been a long favorite of mine due to what can be done with rhythms. I wouldn't classify it as an arp. It's more like a rhythmic sequencer.

@ Funjunkie27, I always try to google for tuts or videos on apps that interest me and 2 or 3 I found on DD, date a ~year back and are so amateur(ish) that it makes me wonder what it can really do?

Why don't they just go through ALL features on 1 track and one note and run it through the grinder and grind it through the mill...if this is not an exercise, could it be...or could it be?...a

    Seriously,
do you like it a lot? Can you tweak FX and record them and mangle sound, reverse etc like "sampler" features?

From what I saw, there is a great number of sequencing tool, and all the videos concentrated around that, and the results were just nothing special...I agree it's definitely a sequencer, not an arp:-)

@monzo, wow the iVCS3 is brilliant... that's my kind of synth:-)

  • I posted one a few months back that might answer some of your questions. It's not a sound mangler really...it's more of a rhythm mangler, but it also outputs midi and AB, so you can easily mangle the sound along with the rhythm.

It's one of my favorite apps, but the learning curve is steep to really understand it, however you can get good results early on by using randomizations.

  • Thanks a lot, really a great review from a user...
Complex it is, like you say, there are so many rhythmical variations possible...
    cheers
