Apps we want to learn in 2025.. hello everyone!

Hello all,

New to LoopyPro here, aware it was the AudioBus forums not long ago… have been lurking for some time ✌️

We're C_Quin & Knowme, if you'd like to know what we do here is our Linktree:
https://linktr.ee/3rdpersonprod

Like many of you, I’m sure you’ve you’ve gotten many apps over the years that you’re still wanting to learn or haven’t quite gotten the time with them that you’d like..

Luckily, making this post prompted me to delete a bunch of software I had accumulated over the year and a half or so… here’s a small selection of apps we’re wanting to get to know more in 2025:

Logic Pro - DAW (iPad and Desktop) - Though we mess with Cubasis 3 from time to time

iOS Synths:
Ruismaker - Hilda (Jakob Haq/Ruismaker - Solderbox as well)
Fabfilter - Twin 3
Imaginando - FRMS/BAM
Moog - Mariana
Toneboosters - Lowtone/Flowtones
Waldorf - Microwave 1
Woodman - Woodsynth

iOS FX:
AudioThing - Reels
Baby Audio - Super VHS/Transit
Bram Bos - Perforator & WOOTT
FAC - Punchlab
GS_DSP - Magic Blur-Filter-Pitch, Quantum Delay-Distortion-Filter
Unfiltered Audio - Lo-Fi AF/Silo

Desktop (Mac) Synths
Jakob Haq/Ruismaker - Solderbox
Gforce - AXXESS
Imaginando - FRMS/BAM/TV3
Klevgrand - Tomofon
Krotos - Concept 2
PotenzaDSP - Amigo
Woodman - Woodsynth

Desktop (Mac) FX:
Aberrant DSP - Digitalis
Auburn Sound - Panagement
D16 Group - Frontier/Repeater
FAC - Punchlab
GS_DSP - Quantum Delay-Distortion-Filter
IK Multimedia Mixbox (Got the full version on sale late in 24, still so many modules to learn!)

As you can see some of the apps have crossover to the iOS platform, which I would love to integrate into an iOS/Desktop template that would have some of these apps preloaded. Feel free to share any of the apps you’ve been wanting to learn next year as well… hopefully we’ll all get the time with how busy we are!

Otherwise, we’ll probably be mostly lurking 👀 hope to see you all in some of the discussions! We’ll pop our head in once in a while.

Any apps you folks have acquired and wish to learn in 2025? I know we're all excited about the upcoming releases, but we pass over the stuff we get all too often and we're hoping to go deeper next year.

  • Everytime I try to learn miRack, I become frustrated. I know how to cobble together a basic subtractive synth, but I want to create intricate Ambient setups where one sligh twist of the knob will make the whole thing fall apart. All those modules available in miRack are nice, but I think for next year I will start off learning Solderbox and slowly work my way up.

  • Cool stuff

Haha, gotta work on your krell mojo 😜

  • Not an app, but I want to learn my Hydrasynth more in 2025 🥰

  • I’m looking forward to GrooveRider 2 myself (I mean, who isn’t?)

And the big Loopy Pro MIDI update when it comes around. (Might be a game changer eh?)

But most importantly, looking forward to the next Drambo beta update! (There’s a secret feature in beta, that I’ve been waiting on that’s my absolute favorite thing ever on the iPad, and when it gets updated, that’s all I’m going to be doing lol)!

@jwmmakerofmusic I have MiRack as well, and it’s cool and all. It’s like an iPad version of VCV rack and that’s really what’s cool about it it. But, you know what….. DRAMBO > MiRack IMHO (what’s really fun is using an instance or two of MiRack inside Drambo.. be because we heard you like modular, so we put some modular in your modular lol) 😂

Or just use instances of the Drambo AU inside Drambo as the host, for an episode of Dramboception 🤙 (and you can do it all without a bunch of messy wires or cables hanging in front of everything where you can’t see what’s going on.. (<— which is one of Drambo’s best features

  • Nice replies ppl, especially shoutout to the MiRack folks. SolderBox definitely seems like a good starting point for modular. GrooveRider 2 seems like it's going to empty all of our pockets 🫣 😅
