I remember them saying they were gonna pull it and give us a better rollout or something. I might be making that up, I don't know. I thought I recalled someone saying that it was going to get optimized and released properly, but was surprised to see it flat out removed.

The update didn't read as though it would disappear - just that it was only included for a limited time.
Bit odd to completely remove it so quickly after making available. I expect some people will have projects they are half way through that were using it 🤔
I only played around with it for a bit. While I hoped it would remain until a new app update, they did put the Jan 1st deadline in the announcement and I didn't want to invest too much into it. Maybe it's just a prototype and we'll get the improved version later!

How does an app automatically remove a feature?
It can't be complicated programming to set a condition where a feature doesn't show up after a certain date.

It’s scary how easy it is actually. They could also lock apps you already paid for entirely behind subscriptions. Luckily that hasn’t affected most apps, but I’ve had it happen.

Yes it was mentioned in the update notes on the App Store however I assumed that it would be a free unlock/gift if you owned or purchased the mixer IAP before that date. I wasn’t thinking the whole fx would be removed on January 1st. In hindsight it could be interpreted either way but I bought the mixer on December 31st. Hopefully it comes back, I didn’t even get to use it. lol. Love koala so can’t knock it, just hoped I’d have access to the effect for longer. Cheers!
