@Squishy yeah the app's free but there's paid features like the auto slicer. The app looks cool but the features to fade in, fade out, etc don't seem to work for me (visually I see the audio data changing but there's no sound difference). Plus I already have the fully fledged out Koala (all the IAP) so apart from the cool memorizer feature I don't see how I would benefit from having Dawnbeat. Everything else seems a bit worse than Koala

    Dawnbeat is an auv3 host
You can use all your plugin fx.

Yeah that's a big plus but I'm not sure if I'm interested in using it as a host. I have more powerful hosts like Loopy Pro or Drambo and I think I prefer using Koala AUV3 through Loopy Pro for example.

I havent gotten into drambo yet,
    It’s a steep learningcurve i think.

It’s an easy host. Getting into it’s modular stuff, that’s something else.. but you don’t have to.

    Those p-locks are no joke!

GRFX - Granular Effects is $5 off at $2.99
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/grfx-granular-effects/id6745477065

Holy Moly- that's insane- an absolute must pickup at thi price imo. It's such an interesting app- I've been pairing it with Silo and Ringotron lately and it sounds incredible.

Highly recommend this at this price point. What an epic deal.

I bought it, pretty interesting but the interface is kind of a battle (I use it in Drambo). I try to scroll/expand/collapse to get a better overview of settings as it seems half of the UI is hidden hidden the other half.

You can set it to always show the full interface, or switch to the half view based on scaling. For the latter there’s a toggle next to the preset bar. At certain size/shape combos the UI does get funky though.

I'm still waiting for it to go on sale, and am preventing myself from buying anything else until it does. Which is hard, but I can't keep letting myself get away with that, and by golly I better not catch myself stepping out of line or I'm really going to give it to myself good.

+1 vote for Dagger. Has a very fun and useful randomize button too. And it's a beautiful design that's easy to learn and tweak.

Still debating if I should get Dagger 🤔

Dude what?, it’s from Beepstreet, buy it now! 👊🫨

Dagger is really in a league of its own. With a real knob-per-function UI (no menu diving), Dual Wave-shaping oscillators, and not to mention all of the amazing filter models (which all sound amazing!)

Edit: I just saw your update , and glad to see you took our advice. Now go have fun and make some music.

IMO sweeping through those filters in Dagger , and running through a lush reverb like FAC Alteza is total bliss!

Korg Black Friday sale has started, at least in my region (Philippines).

    Everything 50%
Dont buy ikaossilater, big disapointment for me at least.
That and Bloom by eno I regret buying 🙂

iKaossilator ain’t that bad to play with once in a while but i got it free awhile back. Not sure id buy it but its a quick and fun little app.

Funny twist on iKaossilator, it exports Ableton projects (and it does import user samples)

It's my favorite synth. Sounds as analog as it gets.

Agreed. Very raw and analog sounding. Best for bass, leads, but also a variety of sounds. Easy to dial in patches or use the patch randomizer, plus a free patch bank or 2 in this forum.

I didn't clock the randomiser, despite having the app for years. That'll get more use now, as I love a random button!

I tried to resize it, but even that is a challenge! 😬

  • (not that anyone asked my opinion but..)
I think Dawnbeat is very underrated.
For me it feels a bit like the “Endless” kind of workflow mixed with a Koala style sampler.
Both are great and excel in different areas (and everyone has different tastes and preferences of course) but I think it deserves more love!

That’s a pretty good deal for $5. Though I’ve had mixed results with stability it looks like there’s been an update in the past couple months for improvements.

Good question..it’s almost the end of 2025 and the fact they haven’t made them AU (besides im1) is ridiculous

  • The new help dialog thingy in Drambo is really great. It makes it a lot easier. also @Daveypoo 's Drambo bytes videos are a perfect starter - dude has a knack for explaining things. also, @rs2000 , @wim, @_ki modules on patchstorage are great learning assets as they tend to be on the more complicated/creative side.

Yes they are moving rather slowly across the catalog but these Korg Apps are AU - Module Pro, Each of the individual Gadgets, & Electribe Wave, plus the aforementioned iM1.

    Regarding Gadget AU's

odyssey, mono-poly and wave state are still IAA and will probably be forever, I don't see them adding AUv3 on those, but who knows.

Dawnbeat is a good app and deserves some love.

Y'all go hard for Dagger- I love the way it sounds, but I struggle to get anything other than Aggro Acid Bass sounds- which I'm stocked with already. 🥺

I like some of the warm but deep bass sounds, a little tweak with dagger goes a long way.
