"Bring Back Memories" - mini album (80's, SynthWave, Calm&Relax)
Hi. I generally create single pieces that do not relate to each other. But in 2021 during the pandemic there was one week I had the inspiration to compose a few tracks in 80's synthwave style with the intention of creating a coherent album. An album where the listener interacts with subconscious which as guide try to bring back the hidden in the mind memories by playing calming melodies and sounds. For words and dialogues I used text to voice tool. I didn't finish the album then - tracks from 05 to 09 are not composed. I hope one day to put the whole thing on Bandcamp. At the moment I'm publishing what was done so far.
The "Bring Back Memories" is intended to be a space where you can stay when you have a worse time. If you miss events from your life when was better or you have difficulty finding yourself in the present world, I hope this music will be a teleport to the past or even some kind of a therapy session that can bring a relief to the mind - hence the idea for the album cover. Have a nice listening.
Apps used to make the tracks:
Garageband, Moog Model D, Moog Model 15, Mood, Sunrizer, Zeeon, Synthmaster Player and Synthmaster One.
Playlist:
01 - Introduction
02 - Do You Remember?
03 - Never Grow Up
04 - Childhood
10 - Awakening

Just listened to all of the tracks and I think you’ve done a great job.
Lovely production, some great tunes, excellent synth playing.
Personally I’m not a fan of spoken word vocals (thats just me 😊) and tbh I think the music is strong enough not to need them but I appreciate your trying to tell a story.
What you have done makes a superb album as it is 🙏
Thanks a lot @GeoTony for the comment. To be honest I couldn't wait for opinion I see you also commented each track on Soundcloud, thank you 🙏 I'm happy you like it ❤️
As for the vocals I used a speech synthesizer because of the conversation idea. That tool had not option to sing, but 4 years have passed and now there are newer solutions that would perhaps fit better. Definitely for track 3, where the whole thing could and maybe even should have been sung and not spoken. I can't sing myself, but I asked two friends who are not singers and they did it for track 3 for a test. I was also considering that time to use a paid service to real singer to sing, well, we'll see how it goes. To tell the truth, after many listenings I have accepted the current artificial voices, which doesn't mean that the they don't need improvement. You gave me the idea to publish the album in two version: with and without vocals.
At the moment it can be considered as a mini album - better that than nothing Although I would be happy if I supplemented it with 5 additional tracks. I don't want to do it by force - quantity instead of quality. For a test I added 5 tracks that I made separately and I wanted to adapt them, but it wasn't it. I have to wait for natural inspiration and complete the album with matching content in the same style, the same instruments and a coherent narrative. When that happens (I hope) I'll contact you so you can listen to the whole thing Kind regards.
