How to unselect a clip

I recently created a button that allowed me to 'select' the 'next tapped clip'. It works as expected and a white dot appears in the middle of the clip graphic. But now I can't work out out to 'unselect' it (so that _nothing _is selected). I've tried deleting the clip widget and creating a new one but the dot is still there on the new one. I've thought of some hacks/workarounds but since 'unselect' seems pretty straightforward I figure I might just be missing something obvious?

There isn't an unselect action. There is no ill effect from the clip being selected.
