wow, it does work! I thought I remembered having problems trying to load it a while back and shrugged it off as an iPAD OS update incompatibility.... The last few times I was able to use it before that, it was crashing far more often than it used to ... But glad to learn it's not completely dead yet!
Dope man! It’s my favorite way of creating. For me it’s about loving the process of exploring sounds and modulation. Getting to a point where making things almost doesn’t sound like complete shit and it’s been really gratifying.
This resource is super helpful, as is just breaking down patches from Patchstorage. Something that really helped me was realizing that even MiRack with its limitations compared to VCV ( I use MiRack fwiw) has more modules than most hobbyist musicians will ever have over their lifetime, full stop.
I try to remind myself of that and learn to stick with specific modules for specific jobs, and when I want to change it up I do one at a time (reverb for a reverb, delay for a delay, etc) or I will try and find a new way of emulating similar style sounds through different patch work, but always with a specific intent.
I used Solderbox recently in MiRack and it felt like a cheat I give myself. I know I can put any AUV3 in with the IAP but I like to challenge myself. Some really amazing artists can do some really amazing things without those any plugins and I would like to get to that ability in a live setting (sans hardware cause 💸😅) one day!
I could go on for days about it but it’s a challenge so go in with intent and don’t get discouraged! It’s a fun hobby. Also I’ll share one artist that’s really inspiring to me that’s all modular (hardware but same principles apply)
Cheers and best of luck!
I watched this the other day. Nice little space to get inspired in.
Hélène Vogelsinger has a good feel for this stuff. The perfect name to go with it.
VApolywest?
Branches (just saw it was already mentioned)
semimodularsynth (in mirack)
Fair enough. I'll have to give Cyclop a deeper look.
😂
....yeah, 😞 Z3TA+ was another gem that eventually disappeared. Sucks.
@offbrands Dang! Thanks for all these ideas. And will be checking the vid. 🙂
Mirack has some great ones
Nice! She seems to have a series on her channel of random abandoned spots jamming on modulars. Pretty dope!
👀
Lagrange and Poison 202 are sort of semi-semi modular.
You can change the signal flow and patching, but only using the provided layout choices.
Lagrange, indeed! Thanks for reminding me @CracklePot.
