Music score apps for iPad?

I want to learn to play some songs on the piano using my iPad for the sheet music. What is the best ones to looks into. On first google, Symphony Pro and Piascore drew my attention. The first song I want to learn is Bach/Busoni Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland.

One issue is that I can only read the treble clef so it would be helpful to find an app that can mark the notes on the score, if that even exists.

Thanks for any pointers. Maybe there's another way to learn these pieces without using music scores, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Thanks!

Greg

  • I personally use Piascore for my piano gigs and have used it for 8 years. It's been consistently great for me personally. Of course ymmv and all those tropes. 😂

Thank you! Do you have access to libraries of public domain scores?

Never looked those up to be honest. 😅 I usually just scan my sheet music in as a pdf and import into Piascore that way.

I see, I didn't know that was even possible. I've never looked into this before. Thanks again!

apparently it has access via the app to IMSLP so that's the website with all the classical music scores free.

my advice is to learn to read the bass clef. it will take time but, in the end, it's the only way you will make real progress with Bach. trust me.

Thanks for the advice. I'm coming around to realize I may have to do that. I took lessons when I was 10 for only a couple months but somehow retained what I learned, but now being 71, the prospect is a little harder :)
