Play Sample/Clip ignore clock state/bpm
I would love to be able to play nature sound or ambient tracks SANS tempo that also can play while the tempo is not set. This would really help me with my natural flow...
example: setting up a sound-carpet or nature sound sample playback in one of these IGNORES-CLOCK loop clips that can be recorded first and make an ambient background. Then go to the normal loop flow and make a "first loop" that is the master. like a beat box or a guitar progression etc...
is this possible? Workaround? Need external AUV3? This is kind of like ableton's CLIP looping VS LOOPER looping.

Load loopy as an AU in your loopy project and set it to not sync to the host. Record those clips that you want independent of the host there. You can set up buttons in the standalone loopy to control those clips so that you don’t even have to open the AU’s window
Amazing implementation. Should'a thought of that!!!!!
Next question is, can you hide the Folder, UndoRedo, ClockToggle, REC, Tempo and Hamburger bar?
No.
Thought not. ;/
I’ve got the AU set up and launching the nature sounds. Is there a way to get the CC widget buttons in loopy host to reflect play states of loopy AU clips? I tried messing with follow actions to no success. How can I have LED on off style behavior to keep sync with play states?
Thanks for all the help guys.
@SparkleBear - there's a hack-around that might help you out. Since I assume you're using send-midi actions and those don't provide feedback or state saving, you're out of luck as far as complete feedback. However, you can add a widget on a page that you don't use, then set your controls to send the midi and set the "dummy" control.
That gives the main widget something to key on to show its state.
I'm pretty sure I didn't explain that too well, but I hope you get the idea.
Update: midi toggle seems to work pretty well unless I use a stop all clips command. I’d prefer to hair loop states in AU change states in host… but if not possible these toggles will work well enough
That makes some sense. Will need to mess around with it. I was thinking about this... was considering radials and radio buttons... hmm... I do not want these to be exclusive. I want to be able to play multiple clips at a time so maybe radial dial for each clip with two states. Would you put the midi message in the off-page-widget? or would you just put it in the main control button and have the radial dial set the togle state of the main button?
Do you have an example project with your hack?

@SparkleBear : you may find this of interest:https://wiki.loopypro.com/Tech_Note:_Persistent_Send_MIDI_Widgets
I would use the same kind of control that you want to see as the "shadow" control. I'd send the midi from the original control. If you send it from the shadow control, you'll probably end up with the same issue on the shadow control... nothing to key its state from. Just make a plain control, and use the "real" control to set the shadow control's state.
Not anymore. But if you get stuck I could make one in just a few minutes. Its really pretty simple though.
Note: there's no two way communication, so only use the "real" control and never the shadow control or the loop it triggers or the whole house of cards falls apart.
It would be a hassle, but one could use follow actions in the AU clips to send feedback back to the standalone .
That's not a bad thought. I don't think it would be any more trouble than the "dummy" widget approach (which I originally concocted to work with other synths, rather than Loopy Pro AU).
