Sequencer - Unexpected Playback
Hi,
Using the Sequencer for the first time.
Before I start to explore why I'm experiencing a certain behavior and what the root cause may be, wanted to ask if what I'm experiencing is expected or not.
I have 4 play groups with buttons next to them to trigger each play group, set up as mutually exclusive play groups.
Each of the 4 play groups/rows is a section of my song (verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge) and all works as expected when playing through the song live by tapping the buttons to transition to the next part.
So then I tried doing a sequence recording by clicking on the "Rec" button in the upper right, then tapping through the song sequence using the buttons, just as I was doing when playing it live but now with the sequencet recording on.
When done, I clicked the "Rec" button again to end the Sequencer recording.
Now I see that the "SEQ" button between the undo/redo arrows and the play button is "On" (ie: shows white background).
So now, when I hit the play button, I expected the song to play through as I'd recorded it in the sequencer, which it does for the first couple rows/play groups, playing through as expected on those, but on the third row/playgroup, things get out of sync.
Just fyi, the button to trigger this 3rd play group first does a "Mute" of one of the clips in that play group, then Plays the Group, then as the play group is playing for a period of time, it then automatically triggers an Unmute of that same muted clip ('After Last' of 9 bars)
It appears the clip that typically mutes/unmutes correctly as triggered by the button when playing through things live is not only not muting when playing back in the sequencer, but that same clipe also starts playing early/out of sync with the other things in that play group.
So, I'm guessing the issue has something to do with this mute/unmute behavior that may not be recording/playing back correctly in the sequencer...but, any pointers/tips/thoughts on if this may be user error would be appreciated.
Would like to get some early thoughts before I spend time looking into this further and reporting back here or to support directly.
Thanks

@danm: the sequencer doesn’t record automation like mute/unmute
thanks @espiegel123. any idea why the clip (that doesn't mute/unmute) would instead play back in the sequencer out of sync to the other clips and different timing than how it was recorded in the sequencer?
Without seeing a demonstration, I can’t speculate. Have you looked at the sequence to see if the event is correct?
