Anyone heard of the possibility of upgrade pricing for Scaler 2 owners?
I'm pretty sure there was upgrade pricing, at least when S3 first came out. You'll have to check the site for the deal today. On iOS there's no such thing as "upgrade pricing" of course, so we'll have to see if they do a bundle deal with Scaler 2.
Yes, I've had Scaler 3 for Mac since its came out, and there was an upgrade deal for Scaler 2 owners. I guess I can be hopeful to get a break on S3 for iOS!
Was it worth the upgrade ?
It was worth it to me, I love that the Scaler 3 plugin is a plugin host. Having the arranger window is very helpful and have been using Scaler with Celemony Tonalic, they make a formidable duo!
The Scaler 3 AUv3 plugin is not a plugin host as that is not allowed by Apple.
Correct, I’m referring to the desktop version 🙏
Sorry, totally understand - was just wanting to try to manage expectations about the upcoming iPad version…
Scaler 2 has a standalone version on iOS, and if desktop standalone version of Scaler 3 acts as a plugin host it would make perfect sense for Scaler 3 iOS standalone version to support plugins. I'm not saying expect it, but . . .
Is there an advantage to using Scaler 3 to host plugins rather than just using Scaler 3 as a midi plugin in a host?
Just to be clear, since I’m a part of the closed, Scaler iOS beta:
• Desktop Standalone and Plugin can host plugins 👍
• iOS Standalone can host plugins 👍
• iOS plugin cannot host plugins due to Apple restrictions 👎🏼
🙏
