Input Gain parameter in Loopy Pro—how does it work?
I’m trying to set up buttons to assign audio input to a color while performing. I’m selecting from two input buses, each corresponding to a different track coming in from AUM. I want to be able toggle input A and separately input B to select one, the other, or both as input for Blue and the same for Magenta.
Input Gain looks to be what I want. I setup a button so that press toggles between 0 db and off targeted to each color. But I can’t get it to work. The input isn’t changed. What am I missing? I couldn’t find it in the Manual (which is difficult to search) or the Wiki. ****

Input gain was something of a stealth addition and doesn’t correspond to a visible control. It is gain applied to a hardware input before it reaches the mixer. It is a somewhat esoteric control mostly used to calibrate an incoming signal when controlling the source isn’t convenient (such as guitar or mic input level from a hardware interface).
I am not quite understanding your description. But I don’t think it involves input gain. From your description, it sounds like you want use the mute/unmute action for the input channels.
I didn’t see any option for selecting a hardware input. Just clips, colors, and groups as targets. It does appear to be a non-feature feature at the moment.
I considered using mutes but if I mute the input it’ll turn off that source—for example, AUM Port 3—completely. I want to route it, not mute it. I tried using a bus with some success. HW-Input > Bus C > [no destination]. Bus C then assigned to blue, and a button or slider to change the send.Repeat for Bus D > magenta. This works. But I don’t like the fact that it adds two more buses to an already crowded lineup. It’s a workaround until input gain is made more practical in the next version.
I am not sure what you mean about input gain being made more practical. I think there may be a misunderstanding about what it does or what I meant. It doesn’t relate to routing.
If you are trying to change the routing of audio sources, the options are duplicate channels with different destinations (muting or unmuting as needed) or using buses.
I got it to work with buses. So I’m good with this question.
I guess I’m making a feature request for what I thought input gain would do, but was wrong. Gain into a color, and targetable.
