Buttersynth feature request, where can I send it?
I have a simple feature request for Buttersynth (just one... for now):
would love to have a Keytrack for the Comb Filter, and also some sort of Release for the Comb Filter too.
Keytracking would bring the synth a bit more into physical modeling territory (I'm just so used of Vital's combs)
I see there's a Twitter link on their website, but I don't use twitter anymore...
Also saw someone around here mentioning they were on a beta, maybe there's a Discord or smth
The arp, seems to generate a lot of MIDI held notes for me, it's a great arp though

thanks perfect
thank you
I wrote on the Discord and never got a reply. I have the feeling Buttersynth is kinda dead so I probably shouldn't spend too much time sound designing presets for it, sadly cause I really like the sounds I get from it so far. And rather focus on other synths that are more likely to be supported in the near future,
thanks again
Hi. I believe "kinda dead" is a bit of an overstatement. It was only released in April 2023, after a long gestation. The first discussions appeared here in Feb. 2021, saying it was coming soon. So I'd say the dev is just slow-moving, not dead..
I got a reply from the developer last summer in which he said there was going to be a bug fixing update in the autumn (2024). Obviously that hasn’t arrived yet but if i remember correctly, Buttersynth was in its beta stage before release for a very long time so it’s possibly par for the course that developer is wanting to thoroughly test it before release? Purely speculation on my part of course but i wouldn’t consider it abandoned just yet.
(Edit: @uncledave, only read your post properly after posting this…i see now that you basically make the same point!).
Can confirm the most recent beta is dated earlier this month (Jan 2025).
That suggests to me the app is not abandoned - just moving at a slower pace, as inevitably happens post-launch.
thanks that's great to hear
cool that's good news then
